Well after being made redundant from my nice and easy night trunk job at DBC, I was offered a job at Brakes on Multi drop, well took job as needed a regular employer for my mortgage application as i was moving!! Well four weeks on and i think i’ll call it a day! Was out with another driver for two weeks learning the route, Cambridge City centre, it was a nightmare, walking over qtr mile with sacktruck to deliver to some of the colleges in the 10 o/clock zone, truck to big to get down narrow road, hence the walk.
30+ drops per day, picking goods from back of truck & they expected this to be done by one person, we were struggling with two of us, it was taking us 9/10 hrs to do route with two drivers pushing two barrows!!
Off now with back injury, so thought time to find something else, so gonna do night trunk work on agency for Royal Mail, nice and easy and £12.75 P/hr, then £15.75 after 12 weeks.
I take my hat off to you guys who do regular multi drop work, but its not for me, been there, tried it & got the T shirt…
