Mullers to buy Wisemans?

Looks like another British company being sold to an overseas company.

Would have doubted it, HQ is just up the road and they are spending money left right and centre.

I don’t really class Germany as overseas and it has been reported for 2 years that Wisemans are struggling with low profits. It may help them compete with Danish owned ARLA whilst selling milk to American owned Associated Dairies and the other supermarkets who want to screw suppliers.

I think the European market is our home market, overseas to me means USA, China, Japan or Taiwan. I don’t doubt that the dairies will still want UK farmers milk as tastes are very different in Europe.

It is being compared to the Cadbury / Kraft takeover but Alois Muller is a family firm attempting to bid for another family firm.

I think it could be an interesting time for transport. Mr Muller owns a few shares in Culina, Culina operate some of the transport and could fit in well, let dairies produce milk and let the hauliers deliver it. Back like it used to be

You mean like when the Co-op and United Dairies did it?

I meant before that, when my mates dad went round picking churns up

mr muller also owns a sizeable share of dairy crest

And seeing as Culina have an . . . er . . . agreement with Arla it could get interesting!

I meant in a work capacity, however, I did not know about the above. Its 3% which doesnt influence anything at the end of the day. I heard culina was owned by mullers daughter?

it got dairy crest running around saying they didnt welcome any takeover approach
