Muller Dairies Class 1

Anyone got experience with Muller dairies class 1 box trailer work? Got an interview/assessment on 26th Feb.

Whats the job like? I’m under the impression its bulk delivery to RDCs and bigger stores. None of the trailers I’ve seen have tail lifts so I’m assuming its all bay work.

Any knowledge of the handball involved/time slot deliveries/number of drops a day?

Thanks

Not worked for them but I tipped at their place in Market Drayton and there was a sign on the wall telling drivers when they could and could not take annual leave (February, November? Fine. July, August, forget it) so it wouldn’t suit me because I tell my employer when I’m going on holiday, not the other way round.

Yes I did some years for Muller.

Worth asking, you’ll either be a “Depot Driver” or a trunker. The former do supermarket deliveries & the trailers do have tail lifts for this although rarely used. Trunkers go mostly from depot to depot dropping & swapping, but also do some bulk deliveries to certain supermarket RDCs.

Whichever your on, it’s a steady job where you won’t be run ragged and Muller still have some class leading t&c’s. Basic pay isn’t the best but you’ll very likely be doing unsociable days/hours which come with good premiums.

I hate companies that do that. When i worked in our warehouse they tried telling us we couldn’t take our “annual leave entitlement” from 1st Sept to 31st Jan and we could save it up and take it all in April before the holiday year ended! So thats only 6 months in which to take your holiday…soon got kyboshed when a group took it to HR who confirmed there was nothing stating those terms in our contracts. Management not knowing how to manage effectively again.

The vacancy I applied for is trunker drivers. Dropping and swapping is my kind of thing!

Any handball involved?

When I was there we had one job that was self tip, Spar in Preston. But it’s all on cages anyway. Other than that, it’s just driving really.
