I had to drive an 11plate Daf CF auto today after my Foden went sick with an electrical fault; Now pass the salt and pepper please as I’m now eating my hat because I was very impressed with it. Once I stopped looking for the clutch and gearstick I found it a nice relaxing drive (after getting used to the delay when moving off). I had a lazy day in addition as said Daf also has an automatic tailgate…I might even be persuaded to give up the Foden when new motors turn up
Wait till you get your hands on a Volvo i-shift.
Auto is my fave. It makes your day nicer.
As you know Muckaway i drive a 61 plate Daf auto its a good motor nice to drive comfy etc etc.But if you ever get the chance try the Volvo I-Shift prepare to have your eyes well and truley opened

That’s what I thought. I know autos are a bit slower on the get go but if you’re a relaxed driver it’s no problem.
You’ll find that you become more relaxed. I shoulda had one before clumping that taxi driver!

Thats why Volvo`s are good, no delay.
Used to hate Autos due to trying a Daf years ago but the i-shift is a pleasure to drive, spare hand for your mobile and rolling a ■■■ as well.

Does that mean that your Foden gets a Place at “TNuk Vacancy offered” ?

Depends on whether a retired driver on our 03 reg gets the new one. It used to be once retired you didn’t new motors incase you decided to retire permanently or license was refused at renewal. I doubt our firm can refuse someone a new lorry on age grounds; they’d probably have to have a fake reason like I’ve been there longer.
