Well done fella, i’l be looking out for you.
Rob - just heard.
I’m so sorry you have had such an ordeal - prayers to all those involved.
Keeping fingers crossed that Mr. Vain is restored to his former glory.
Perhaps we should have a Mr. Vain polishing weekend, once he is back home with you? It might give you something to look forward to, to take your mind off things…
I’m sure many of us would like to help you get him back to the way that you want him - under your strict supervision, of course!
I could even organize a bunch of Polish polishers if required
great news rob, these things take time…great wife sends a huge hug,and looking forward to the mighty convoy and maybe a social gathering of sorts the night before

Brilliant news for both you and Mr Vain
Hi all, thanks so much for yr kind words and offers of help and support. Back on the road today (first full day) felt good, no real dramas. Not keen on the hire truck, 04 plate MAN 410. Completely gutless. Dirty white, rusty wheels with air con. Comfortable to drive. Missin my creature comforts.
This has been a great post, not one sour word.
Best wishes, Mr V
good news there Mr vain

And well conditioned air in the tyres. But it seems that it needs wheel-conditioning

Did some one want to see a picture of Mr Vain. Hope I am not doing wrong if so please remove
I sent you a message on FB.
But just to reiterate, you cannot hold this against yourself and I am glad to see that you are working it through in your mind. You should feel no shame for the tears, or for accepting a hug from a friend. Instead, you should be pleased that you are getting a handle on it and that others are there to help. These things take time to understand and you need to accept that first, but I fear you are nowhere near out of the woods on the pysche front yet.
You will find that the silliest of things will make you go rigid in the seat at the strangest of times. Don’t be afraid to tell your friends when it happens. Sharing the emotions does 2 things, it helps you to understand, and it helps those around you to understand your position. Trust me, your position is entirely unique, but the emotions are something some of us do understand.
And if any trolls do decide to wade in then they better be prepared for a serious onslaught!!
Great to hear that both Rob , and Mr Vain are on the mend. I would always be on the lookout for the bright red xmas tree when on my travels. Its pretty much the only TNUK members truck i could probably recognise.
Hi all, sorry if i’ve been a little quiet. My first week back on the road was ok. Bartrums did their very best to keep me out of mischief. Only 2 real complaints of the week were the “LOANER” (A shed of the finest degree) and my tiredness. Never felt so tired in my life.
On the plus side, A very good man that frequents these very pages came up with some parts for Mr Vain, free of charge and postage free!!! What a star, a real friend indeed. So a big thank you to GLOBBY!!!
The other highlight of the week came when the parcel did arrive i took the parts to the bodyshop and had a look at Mr V. Rebuild in progress and lookin good. And better still, they’re confident that he will be back on line in time for the convoy. Big smiles all round.
