MPs get more holiday

Less than a month after the Election, Jacob Reece Mogg has announced an extra month of holiday for MPs*.

  • I was going to say ‘MPs that the public voted for’, but there are two unelected ‘beurocrats’ in the Cabinet these days…

Anyone really surprised?

Nope. Not one bit.

Though in the interests of balance, I didnt vote conservative, but whoever got in would look after themselves in one way or another.

Maybe we could fill the shortfall with 'Agency ’ M.P.s but of course they would have to be allowed under the new ir35 rules and be truly 'self employed ’ and not work under a dodgy offshore company name based in a tax haven…etc etc etc

Look on the bright side, that’s a months-worth less mayhem they can cause the country.
Now if they gave them 12 months holiday a year, and scrapped the Lords of Greed, we’d be getting somewhere.

You seem to imply that appointing Cabinet Ministers who aren’t MP’s is a new thing, but the last Labour Government did it with Lord Mandelson and Lord Adonis both in the Cabinet despite them not being MP’s at the time.

Having looked at the Ethnic make up of the cabinet, I’m really surprised that those who usually shout about such things aren’t making a big deal that 2 out of the, traditionally considered, 4 top jobs of Prime Minister, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Home Secretary and Foreign Secretary, have gone to people who aren’t middle aged white men?

Was thinking something similar

Unelected members of the Cabinet isn’t new I know, but don’t forget one of things the Tories were saying about getting out of Europe was a stop to unelected members…

The wonderful world of political hypocrisy and they’re all at it, regardless of party or political system.

J R-M needs more holiday from his part-time job in Parliament as, ahead of Brexit, his main job got relocated to Eire.

the more non indigenous british voters pop up on the radar then the more they will get catered to by the powers that be for voting majority numbers.
the foxes are becoming in charge of the hen house hence your on borrowed time before becoming the ethnic majority in what used to be your own country.
as more and more get jobs of any form of power, then those beneath them will be replaced by like for like.
obviously theres exceptions to every scenario but if your being interviewed for selection by a muslim or ee,then the jobs not likely to be getting filled by someone pink and indigenous to the uk.

I think you’ve missed my point and are trying to make your own.
Mine was just the surprise (ok not that surprised  ) that those people and media outlets, who normally make a big deal of such things, seem to be very quiet on this subject.

i see what you mean there…
not the usual umbrage being taken which probably may mean the tide has turned and whats the point in flogging a dead horse when the outcome is obvious?

No I was thinking more the opposite view point, more Guardian than Daily Mail. Maybe they’re just in the wrong government for them?
