MPG on DAF CF 310 or equivalent?

I’m thinking of down sizing to a DAF CF 310 drawbar wagon from an 460 FH12 Volvo tractor unit. What kind of MPG would I be hoping to get? The Volvo does 8.6 with an empty trailer, so am hoping it’ll be significantly better than that, anyone got any experience of what the CF or similiar 280 - 340 hp wagon are like on fuel?

A cf is a horrible thing to drive if your tramping, i suggest you spend a week in one before you buy one, i done over 6000kms in 10 days in a 430 cf delivering trailers for a hire company so half the driving was solo and it was doing over 12 mpg but having to climb onto the hump after a long day was less than ideal and i would never do it again.
Dont be fooled into thinking less HP will get you more MPG doing the same work, cos it probally wont

Heres some figures from trucks ive driven this year,
16 plate 480 scania pulling DD to the hub 10.6 MPG
15 plate 460 xf doing same as scania above 10.8 MPG
19 plate fh 500 doing same 400km run every night, leaving fully loaded and returning empty, 300 on M1 and 100km round london 11.9 MPG, sat-nav speed was 91 kph
69 plate xf 530 running light and mostly on M/W 11.7 MPG
69 plate xf 530 running light with sat-nav speed of 80 kmh 12.8 MPG
13 plate 440 scania doing multi-drop local work was showing around 8 mpg and i could never get it to go higher

the 69 plate dafs were comfirmed at the pump, the rest were from the dash of the truck

The frustration of driving one of those 75 310s especially with a trailer would be off the scale ,never have I driven such under powered lorry’s .
My 380 ■■■■■■■ will eat the 460 mx13 Daf I have for breakfast .
The figures quoted above by 205 for mpg I’am unsure of ,you can’t really trust the dash mpg thing ,it’s best to work it out your self .
The Daf does 7.75 mpg at 44 tonne out going and 20/26 tonne back .
