Right fair enough, his tenure had been a disaster.
But what I don’t understand is, why is the coach etc never sacked due to poor performance. Surely their input in results is just as important as the Manager■■?
If the coach and physio staff etc are crap, it doesn’t matter how good the manager is, they’re not doing to do well are they?
Edit: Ok so Neville and Giggs are coaching but my point stands.
Fergie didn’t do well in his first 3-4 seasons & was one game away from being sacked but then he didn’t take over a side that had just won the premier league by 11 points like Moyes did!
Moyes should never have been given the job, there was nothing on his CV to make him 1st choice. He did ok with Everton & that’s all… look at what Martinez has done with virtually the same group of players.
Can’t see what they’re moaning at. Moyes consistently guided Everton to 6th or 7th, and now he’s done the same for United they bloody sack him! What did they expect?

Exactly! Actually finishing in the top half of the table would be utopia to a lot of Premiership clubs, it gets blooming boring when the same four are juggling for the top spot every season and moaning when they ONLY get second or third place.
I wouldn’t mind David Moyes payoff 12 million. The same thing happened when Matt Busby retired nobody did any good for years, then Fergy came along, then after a few seasons built a team. Moyes would have done the same if he had been given time. Also having Fergy in the place didn’t help. Moyes will be back with another premier league club after the dust settles.
Im not a great football fan, and dont like Man U, but i remember when Fergie took over, after the end of his first or second season, people were baying for his blood and saying he should get the sack cos hes no good and Man U didnt do a lot. They stuck with the miserable git and he did ok, so i cant see why they gave bug-eyes the boot so soon.
A lot of the problem these days is that Foreign consortiums buy into the clubs in a big way and want instant returns on their investments. Some aren’t even that interested in football, they just see it as a way to make their money work and when things don’t go to plan heads have to roll. Moyes did well on a limited budget at Everton, as did Martinez at Wigan so he knew how to work with Everton as they are basically similar teams financially. David Moyes was suddenly thrust into having mega-bucks to deal with, plus Fergie watching every move which must have been un-nerving at times, and realistically most folk didn’t imagine any miracles in his first season. Not good enough for the Glazier’s etc so I hope that the next incumbent at Old Trafford achieves instant success for them! Anyhow David got slightly more severance pay for his one year than I did when made redundant after five years…
