Starting Thursday night delivery 44 tonne truck to Mount Pleasant Sorting Office. Dropping in Bow 1st, anyone done this? London night restrictions say that I have to go out of London then back in on A1 ! Would rather nip in on A13 then cut through city.
It’s a chance you take but the highway is naughty for lorry ban check.
Think royal mail own vehicles are exempt from london lorry control .
go to the Transport for London website. TFL
Some RM vehicles are plated for london, and some are not. Make sure and check before you make this journey, as many actually employed by RM have fallen foul of the various differing ban systems, especially in the Holborn/Farringdon area where Mount Pleasant is.
Twelve Trees depot near Gallender Street for example was a catchy one to take an artic into, as you had to cross the river from kent at dartford (and pay!) then go in on the A13, then down Manor Road with it’s 13’ height restriction.
Any attempt to approach the blackwall tunnel northbound would end up with you being tipped off either through Blackheath or Greenwich - which both attract fines nowdays…
I will not be working for Royal Mail, contracted by IPC Media to deliver subscription magazines in there on Thursdays. So I just wondered if anyone new the “selected Route” I will keep you posted.

Get the approved route in writing and stick to it. Any fines will then be down to the traffic office, not you.
