What’s a dissatation ? I am sure there are many others on this site who, like me, aint got a bleedin clue …As I understand it, It’s like a very long essay you need to do to get a degree, it involves researching and producing an original piece of work.

Haha, yeah, essentially I think there’s a gap in the market for more high quality services like Tebay and I will be looking to make a set of recommendations based off this and other research. Price is definitly a major issue, I think some of the stuff about safety and the difference compared to Europe thats coming up is really interesting

Safety is a big thing. Some places you’re more likely to get robbed in a service station than in a layby.
The owners of Teebay also built Gloucester services, why dont they knock down the ugly and outdated other Msa,s that flog burgers and fried chicken, and build services that is the same as Gloucester services.

The ■■■■ Turpins that trade as Moto and Roadchef, at some Msa,s, all you get after a fifteen hour shift is kiddies food , such as baked beans, fish fingers or chicken nuggets for grown up working men.
Free truck parking in Europe, but here you pay and no night guards, they need big dogs to deter trailer slashers and fuel fairies.
The loos stink so bad they make you puke with that stale urine smell.

Another thing that can be done is to build truck cities, they have them in Europe, Pamplona in Spain has a truck city.
Basicaly everything to do with transport is in one location away from Anti lorry Nimbies.
Freight forwarding agents offices, Customs offices for TIR in transit lorry movements,
Cafes, restaurants, shops, bars, tyre fitters and tyre dealers, garages and workshops,
Commercial vehicle dealers.
Ciudad de transportes are away from residential areas which keeps wealthy middle aged voters happy.

How much do you get paid per survey filled out Taylor? Have you checked with the site admins before posting the link?
Not sure if this is covered under forum rules regarding business but you should probably check since you probably get paid everytime a survey is filled out and completed using your link.

I did wonder but I wasnt aware of the rule regarding it,thats why I asked. I thought it was only for monetery gain though.
Not all euro service areas are free now.Wetteren on the e40 has been redeveloped.And they have put up a fence and barriers.It us only €1 an hour though.So is cheap and clean.I think these service owners should take a leaf out of how the Europeans do things.Way ahead if us in that.
Some French truckstops are now barriers and pay to park now, they offer incentives of buy a few hundred litres of fuel to get free or reduced parking.
Or buy something in the shop for discounts.
Some Rouitiers have barriers, the owners kick you out if you are not eating there.
Lyon has the secure parking that is payable and free parking nearby.

All 4 truck’s is a crap hole, the showers are disgusting and possibly a health hazard (ceiling full of mould) that has an over powering stench, and it’s spot the brit in there as said it’s like a warberers depot I also noticed that although there is a fence and barriers,as well as security on site, there are still illegals in hiding that come in hugging axles of trucks,
To comment about our rip off MSA’s the showers are often broken or have no hot water, not only this but they are the push button with fixed shower heads, which aren’t really up to the job of cleaning your body
then there’s the use of a company called payzone who have installed their ATM’s in nearly all MSA’s and even some services on A roads, they charge £2 to withdraw your money, this is on top of any parking fees,or if you are really stuck any food you buy, from their fast food outlets who nearly all charge more than on the high street, along with cost you a lot for a coffee as said £3+ is a joke
this excuse of them being open 24hrs doesn’t wash with me, as tesco’s and asda stores are also open 24hrs but they don’t charge for the convenience do they
I suspect I’m typical of many drivers i won’t pay to park in an MSA the only time i will park in one is when the company are paying, i never eat in a MSA either junk food over priced and luke warm or not isn’t what i want to eat after a 15hr day
Most vehicles on the motorway have only one person in them yet the MSAs cant or wont sell an ordinary sized bar of chocolate or bag of crisps. You have the choice of a triple size Mars bar or don’t bother. A 3 quid family size bag of crisps or don’t bother.
Most of the time I just want a nibble to pass the journey so I don’t bother.
Woodhall Northbound bogs stink very bad all the time for some reason.

Why when you want a shower you have to have paid for parking or they want all your documents ie passport vehicle insurance mot log book your driving licence just for the shower key 
Or why are the showers full of the cleaners things 
Why so much to park when no security & they will not be responsible for any damage
