There is no difference between a car doing 50 or a truck doing the same. Top marks to the man for his courtesy to the trucker.
Speed limits are maximum limits not minimum limits. If my boss ( and this has happened ) told me to drive flat out I would tell him where to go. I decide how fast, no one else. Here in Glasgow on the M8 the average speed in lane 1 is 50/55. This is dictated by the rolling road blocks who travel at 55/60 in lane 2. To pass them you would need to go to lane three and do 70 plus, and get tailgated into the bargain. Not worth the hassle. If the cops dont want to clear them then I just plod along in lane 1 whether I am in my car or truck. As the young folks say ‘chill out’. When I win the lottery I am going to get a special edition bulldozer and I’ll soon clear the middle lane of rolling roadblocks!
Alex.
