The M62 has reopened between Junction 22 and 24 after a woman was seen climbing on to Scammonden Bridge.
Police officers were called to the scene, near Junction 22, and talked her down.
A Highways Agency spokesperson said that delays are currently around 30 minutes due to the incident near Rishworth Moor and will take some time to clear.
There are massive tailbacks and delays as motorists try and find alternative routes off the motorway.
There is queuing traffic moving very slowly A58 from Halifax through to Hipperholme lights and also along Bradford Road, Brighouse, towards the town centre.
Chas:
You have hatred in your heart, did I displease you as ‘the maoster’ or one of your socks?
I have no hatred in my heart for you Chas, that would plainly be ridiculous as I don’t know you. I don’t even have contempt as again I don’t know you, I do however have total ambivalence towards you if that helps.
I remember about 17 or 18 years ago I was heading to Dublin from Belfast at around 1am and had just passed a bridge at Lisburn and noticed 3 teenagers on the bridge. I drove on and thought nothing of it until the next day when I got home. Apparently 1 of the teenagers decided to try and walk along the bridge railing ( they were all drunk ) and fell off onto the motorway. The next lorry coming along didn’t have a chance of stopping…result 1 dead drunk teenager

dont know if any other drivers are getting paranoid, but when driving on the motorway and you see people standing on the bridges i now find myself looking at them in case they have something in their hand and getting prepared to take evasive action in case they do throw anything,it can be annoying but its better to be safe than sorry especially when you hear of drivers getting seriously injured or killed by such actions from mindless individuals, just another bit of stress in a drivers life
Negative thoughts such as this are often a clear indication of your own state of mind.
Please seek help, either a close relative or friend is a better first choice than the medico’s IMO.
Good luck.
Maybe the OP has issue or maybe he hasn’t. I dont know and I would suspect neither do you.
I think your comments are a bit judgemental mate…maybe the OP is paranoid or maybe he just used the wrong word to describe his emotions.
I, for one, always look up at a motorway/high bridge and often wonder what they are upto as nowadays you never know what is going on in peoples minds. I’m not paranoid about it though.
worrying. I’ve had kids jumping up and “tight-rope-walking” along the parapet as I pass underneath. I wonder if there is a technical solution to missile threats (external air-bags?) and if perpetrators should face murder/GBH charges rather than vandalism.
further to my post on people standing on bridges, i have just read in the latest truck and driver issue that 3 youths age 13,14,and 15 have been given youth referral orders for throwing objects from a bridge over the M25 between jcn 7 and 8,they were also ordered to pay £2000 in compensation,my god i bet they are bricking themselves [NOT]their parents will probably have to pay the fine [if they are not on benefits]because how many kids that age have that kind of money,if they do not abide to the conditions of the referral order they are then taken back to court for re sentencing, detective constable steph worrell says and i quote i hope anyone who thinks of commiting such a mindless act will take this sentence as a warning and it will prevent future occurrences unquote, some sentence that, these youths today could not give a txxs about such a sentence, they see it as a badge of honour among their own type of scroats, its laughable, even going to a young offenders institute does not hold any fear for them anymore

You’re bang on the money there matey. A year’s hard labour might do the job though… Oh sorry can’t do that d
When the OP said “paranoia” I wouldn’t have though he actually meant “paranoia” but perhaps meant is anyone else wary of people on bridges etc?
