Seems to be a case of undertaking the Merc and not looking ahead. Close on 150kph apparently.
It would appear neither truck driver was aware as it seems they both moved forward after the bike was down?

Saw this yesterday and as a motorcyclist it made me cringe at the thought, however I don’t know wtf he was thinking
Same here, as a biker I’m cringing at the crass attitude he has for anyone else. It could have been a lot worse, clearly neither of the trucks saw him. If he’d have ended up under a wheel it could easily have been a fatality.
I’m wondering why this guy, it’s obviously self filmed, would want to share this with the internet. It puts him or her in a very poor light on so many levels.
The motorcyclist should be charged with dangerous driving. If he had been killed by one of the trucks, it would have caused grief for the truck driver involved. The idiot actually posted this film online. How stupid.
Perhaps he was showing others how not to do it, seemed like he realised he was doing it all wrong by the ■■■■, ■■■■, ■■■■ comments he was making.
Very lucky he didn’t go under the wheels of the trailer that’s for sure.
Out of interest if you boys are artic drivers, would you have felt that happen, as he quite light, or would it be like a bump in the road or wind blowing the trailer?
As only the left hand lorry (is that foreign plates) has his hazards on and that’s his blind side!

If you look closer the left hand trailer has a British plate between the trailer door locking bars

Not likely, you’d probably of heard it if you had your window down though.
Nice spot DAF95XF,
Eye test for Constantine! Couldn’t see that on the small clip, and it wouldn’t expand! Stevie Wonder glasses on at the moment then! And they say I don’t need corrective lenses yet at my age!
Good job I covered myself with the bracketed query…is that foreign plates Phew!
I like his final statement “No way I was going to stop” …yes there was, you had two articulated trailers to choose to hit. You was always going to stop at some point bud, just luckily not under their wheels!
Hope it was an “educational” video of I’ve been stupid, please don’t try this at home. Rather than blaming the lorry drivers in this instance!

Indeed. Aren’t all lorry drivers taught to check left then right mirror before moving off from rest every time? I wonder how many do?

Well perhaps if the title was in some way vaguely connected to the content I might have spotted it.

Cheers Saaamon for answering my query so quickly! One to note in the memory bank then!
So it could’ve ended a lot worse with neither of them being aware of what had initally happened until they done a mirror check, a couple of seconds later!
So now we need rear facing cameras on vehicles too “bandits at your 6”

Most still do I thought, otherwise they’d be even more accidents on our roads?!
I know I did and especially do in my van (loads of blindspots on that bad boy, even with the extra blind spot mirrors fitted)! Will continue to do so, especially over the right shoulder before pulling away too!

I know I wouldn’t have felt it. I doubt I would hear it either as I usually have windows up and radio on

The company im about to start for have rear facing cameras on their artics… Never come across that before.
Protects you in a way Saaamon, in case the less able try to claim you was at fault, when you clearly weren’t and it’ll soon shut them up when its played back to them too!
Seen them on security vehicles for obvious reasons and then the rear facing for when you are reversing on some construction vehicles.
Do they monitor it or is it just for accident purposes only?

It’s the nearside of the artic on the right too, so his blindside
I doubt you’d feel it, can’t comment from experience but I’ve had a car hit the rear of my bus and didn’t know - was serving passengers at the time and nobody knew until the woman driving the car came on to tell me and exchange details, then a lot of people suffered ‘whiplash’
Hey Wayne,
Cheers for clearing that up, I’d never have realised that
I thought he hit the left hand lorry first? That’s why I made the comment of his “blindside” if he was (“foreign” - should say left ■■■■■■ as we know UK firms run them too), as others said its running UK plates though and can’t tell from this angle what side the driver is.
Either way the motorcyclist was still a silly boy!
In the rigids I drove I had the misfortune of scratching a car once and I never felt a thing. I had to ask my driver’s mate walking behind whether I did and the car driver’s reactions confirmed it
However he hit that trailer hard I wonder whether you would have felt it, as he’d have been a weight but not enough to make a difference. Bit worrying you can’t feel stuff like this, but one day (however I hope I don’t), I might experience it and then realise that yep you can’t “feel” the trailer when something goes wrong. Better use them mirrors lots and lots more then, once I get on the artics
(Not saying I don’t when I’m on the rigids by the way before we get them accusations!)

For those of you who have not pulled semi trailers, you feel very little. You could run over a body and would not know unless you saw it in the mirrors. (in which case hopefully it wouldn’t happen) Hence the big emphasis on mirror use when learning to driving HGV’s.
A lot of these truck v bike accidents that happen in London (other cites available) - ok the cyclists do some pretty stupid things, but if the lorry drivers were paying full attention they would almost always know the cyclist was there.

Its not a British no. plate that’s a yellow sticker with a black lorry on it
