I have been asked about transporting a motorbike from Salisbury to southwest Scotland but i don’t know anything about that sector. Any ideas on who would provide that service? Or would it be easier to hire a van and do it himself?

Used them 7 times for bikes and never had a problem… Cheap too 
Join the AA and take the valve stem out of the back wheel. 
Contact a removal company, we regularly move cars and bikes. Someone like Armishaws have a place in Salisbury and cover the MOD work to Scotland so would be able to help. Short of that as the big nationwides like Pickfords, White and Co, Bishops etc. Be interesting to know what they would charge.
