motor home wild parking

Come on lads lets have all your parking spots not MSA im going on short time and I need to keep up with all those hide aways we’ve used in the last 40yrs driving

I’ve camped all over ,France & Spain too ,I quite fancy the pub nr to the ribblesdale viaduct looks like a good spot on the junction by the river and the pub .

I always park in lay-bys when we are travelling, the only exception is if we are wanting to look around a large town or city. Last year when we were in Europe we only used a campsite in Prague, Budapest, and Bled. All the rest of the time we either used a service area (twice) or somewhere in a lay-by or a quiet bit of land. This next year I want to take my mrs. down to Istanbul via the Commie Block most of which she has seen now. Then I will use a Park in Istanbul, back home through Ipsala, down to Athens, Patras, over to Brindisi, up the Adriatica to Ravenna, across to Milan, visit ex family at Varese, back down the over Cenis Pont d’Ain and home. About £1200 in fuel, and £190 on ferry, plus of course both channel ferries at about £100. It’s a good life. If you used campsites it would cost a bomb.

Did that camper have a five cylinder engine Dan ?
Cheers Dave.

Sorry Dave no ,it was a 4 cylinder ,but I did have faith in it as it had only done 40’000 when I sold it earlier this yr .however I still had starter ,alternator ,hoses ,belts ,injectors ,tensioners ,pulley wheels ,ect ect in the back though just in case .

Looked a tidy vehicle Dan. My cousin had a five cylinder camper, with a 130bhp engine in it.
Cheers Dave.

That would be the pre common rail engine Dave .

Didn’t they do the two versions Dan, the 313 and 316. Mine is the same as yours, only its a 216 because its swb, but with the 156bhp engine.
Cheers Dave.

The 16 s are common rail all 156 & 5 cyl ,the 312 s are 129 & 5 cyl and fly by wire non common rail ,the 313 s are 129 & 4 cyl and common rail .also 311 & 308 but 308 got smaller con rods .

I see now Dan, I was under the false impression that they were both 5 cyl. The 210 I have is 4 cyl and 95bhp which goes well, but I think it was driven at motorway speeds before I bought it, as the previous owner lived at Taunton, but so far I’m pleased with it. Sent you a PM.
Cheers Dave.

If any of you blokes are contemplating a camping trip around Aus heres a few pics of our trip in 2013
Great photos Dan more if possible.

Cheers Dig
