Do you know these bus lanes …bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-38957371
Rather than call them “cash bonanzas” id worry more that 4000 drivers a day are either ignoring the law regarding bus lanes or even worse, totally oblivious to the road signs and markings.
Ive said before, I dont understand everyone’s outrage about how much money they make. They will make zero if no one uses the bus lanes.Yes there will be the occasional genuine slip up but not 4000 of them a day so its only a “cash bonanza” for councils because some people want to take the chance or are not paying attention to road signs
Bang on Snowman, stay out of them don’t get fined simple but watching some of the videos on you tube I would but them on traffic lights as well
Cash Bonanza? Voluntary Tax Payments maybe? So long as the lanes are correctly signed then, not a problem to use them and top up the Council’s coffers.

Not only do they go into them, they go into them even when you try to warn them.Usually questioning your parentage and waving their fingers.

Exactly. It sums up the quality of driving on the roads these days that so many have such little awareness.
It’s the same for the amount of people who get caught speeding on multiple occasions, it really isn’t that difficult to spot speed cameras and know what the speed limit is if you are looking more than one car length in front…
It’s no good saying stay out of them as it sometimes isn’t that simple. There’s a bus lane near me that disappears about 50 yards before a busy major roundabout, it’s a 2 lane road that’s always queueing, left lane is for turning left and straight ahead and right lane for right, as the bus lane stops the queueing traffic jostles to get into the left lane and consequently cars move into this lane just before the bus lane stops and if you get stuck in the outside lane you’ve got little chance to move over so everybody is in the bus lane just before it ends, some braver than others who join the bus lane further back.
I imagine this sort of thing happens whenever a bus lane ends in queueing traffic, but how many of the 1000’s who got nicked where simply moving into it a few feet early?
There’s a massive difference between blatantly using a bus lane for 100 yards or more, and getting into it a yard before it ends.
