Well you’re not going to like this one Rob, … and i’m still trying to come to terms with it…
As I have now sorted my new job (to UK) in August, I was gobsmacked when a bloke i’ve known ever since i’ve been here, totally out of the blue told me about a contact of his with whom he had ‘pulled some strings’ reference a house I was after.
Not only has it seen me land right on my feet, it’s saved me no end of £’s and I definately couldn’t have got the same result by myself.
The shocking thing is that this bloke who did me the favour is one of the old enemy - he’s a Red Rose (ZB)-house!! Me & him have had some ‘strong banter’ over the last 4 - 5 years as he never has his scum-shirt of his back and has loved seeing Yorkshire’s (previously) footballing greats go down the pan.
So, am I saying the ‘Mancs & Lancs’ are the nicest people?? NO, because I couldn’t bring myself to. It must’ve been a freaky one-off.
And so I guess the answer is still Yorkshire folk; it’s just nice to know that some of our better qualities are actually making over that big hill and across the Pennines!!

Calling people “Duck” originated in Stoke-On-Trent (aka the Potteries)
People from Derbyshire and Burton and Notts area that use tht phrase will have decended from Stoke.
Ow at me duck?
Am alreet, ast thee?
