A6 Paris to Beaune. You only pass one place of any size, Auxerre and even the two exits for there are many kilometres apart.
Reims to Calais is never ending - it’s the French A14
The forest road goes without saying, especially since its now 80ks along the entire length of it, but the A66 Ruta de la Plata from Salamanca down to Merida takes some beating. The old road (N630) used to be bloody hard work, but you certainly never got bored.

I always thought the forest road was 80 anyway, we used to run down to Rion Des Landes with Para Cresol and it was definitely 80k for anyone behind me.

the forest road deffo, me and davey hotpot have just done barbezieux to sunbilla in 4h25 used to be 4hrs. chuffing french tanker did 70 all the way down, should be the law that you can pull alongside french tanker drivers and shoot them, have a real life version of that film deathrace 2000.
the ruta de la plata is also tedious which is why i’d rather do the extra kms and do irun to sevilla via sunbilla, almazan and madrid, much more interesting

It is a bit…
WBIS,is the Forest road speed limit enforced,i can`t see the Ukrainian,Brazillian,Columbian,Peruvian,Equadorian,or any other south american coffee producing country, that provided cheap drivers in Portuguese and Spanish registered trucks ,sticking to the limit,or rather full speed ahead, and hope the Genadarmes are not about, not sure about you,but the motorbike brigade seem quite evil and threatining, and not to be messed around with, almost ■■■■ looking types, with the knee high leather riding boots, and a horses whip in the bikes side panniers to beat up bad mouthed drivers.ZE MUST PAY,mein Fuhrer.

as wheel nut says its always been 80 but now they are very strict on it the problem is when leaving the bordeaux ring road its 204km to the border and you can only overtake between junc.9 for dax and junc.8 for bannesse maremne. they patrol more now and they are rumoured to use a helicopter to catch trucks overtaking.
when we were on it on wednesday we were in a queue of about 40 trucks doing 70k all the way.
The forest road boering, when i was doing spain it was the only road i enjoyed driving along. all them places to stop, at every aire there was a nice frenchman there to meet you. had many a good night on the rue de la homo.

Even the Poole - Santander becomes boring - especially when some weeks I do the crossing up to 4 times.
Forest Road out to Spain from the National 137 in France, and the Antwerp Ring!
In fact the Forest Road is so ■■■■■■■■ boring, I tipped a fridge over because I nodded off. Lovely fresh fish all over the embankment during the peak of the summer. Bloody lovely smell!
A lot of you are saying the forest road, I’ve only done it once each way in a car to and from Biarritz and I must admit it did drag from Bordeaux to Biarritz and viseversa especially at the reduced speed limit for cars, I was surprised how long it took from Bordeaux to Biarritz.
When i first started going down there,i would take the national road all the way to the border, just took a chance on the weight limit, most of the time, they did not look as i passed,as the local trucks were running on the national, there were plenty of factories in the area.
Now they have made the road smaller,in the towns,it is pedestrian friendly, and a tight squeeze for a truck,i tried it in the night last year, and thought, there is no way i would dodge the tolls in the day time,it would be getting stuck with the local buses and the old bill would spot a fine, and they would ■■■■■■ you to the nearest toll entrance.
belgium is boring , full stop.
but yeh the road from calais down as far as macon is pretty tedious as is the motorway to paris from calais.
I would try and use to the nationals,if not in a rush, more places to stop, but saying that the motorway services in France offer discounts for drivers, and good quality food, and free parking.,the distances for rest breaks in the uk`s motorways are some times too long,i thought the government were in talks to build new rest areas, that are similar to to the French “Aire de repos”,rest area, with picnic tables, and clean toilets, you can allways find an overnight place, and they build them away from the road,to reduce noise levels,so you get a better quality of sleep.
Actually I would like to add further to this thread. I have just travelled the brand new motorway this week up from Tarbes to Bordeaux. My god!! Mind numbingly boring!! Beautfully smooth though
Reims to Calais - its the never ending M50, A49, A449, M4 not necc in that order. Oh yes, and the M180…ps, and the A47

Hate them as I do, you have to give the kermits credit for their roads - most are as smooth as billiard tables.
