Most annoying driving habits that really get your back up!

Dr Dave:
Cars cutting down the 2nd lane and forcing their way in when lane 1 is queued where a dual carriageway morphs into a single one…that really makes my [zb] itch

Tarmac is there to be used.Merge in turn at the cones, not half a mile back.
I choose to use all the road I can get… if that means leaving you in a long queue fuming, i’ll be :unamused: !

+1 Mr 206doorman  And I REALLY HATE truck drivers who insist on trying to block all lanes miles from the merge point. Where are their blue flashing lights? :imp:

that say’s it all!
if you got yourself in the right lane well before the junction you would not need to be pushing in at the last minute

quite clearly you didn’t understand what I posted
I doesn’t matter if I am 2 miles before the junction or 10 miles before the junction.
If I am to come off at any junction then at some point I need to move into the left lane.
No one mentioned pushing in at the last minute except to make the point that the distance is fairly immaterial in my argument, which is
Drivers leaving insufficient room between vehicles for other vehicles to move into that lane safely.

I understand del949. I understood what you meant at the first point you said it too! It annoys me too. As much as the person that goes from the on-slip to the outside line with no indicating, like they are on a rolling start too.

There seems to be a lot of cars with only one headlamp working. They whizz up the middle lane to overtake you in the slow lane, but get all upset when you pull out to overtake the supermarket wagon… I’ve NEVER seen plod or Vosa pulling someone over because they had a light out… So? - Everyone has taken it as a “free for all” that it’s “ok to run without replacing blown lamps”… Then a cyclist gets killed, and we all get blamed for being useless all over again. ARRRRRGH!

OK so they are naughty for having only one headlight, but you knew that when you deliberately pulled out in front of them didn’t you? Just like when you pretend not to see a car with no headlights in pouring rain …

There’s no pretend about it… People with no lights are like those that cut in when three lanes cone down to one. In the event of a collision, not only does the lightless car come worse off, they are automatically in the wrong legally as well. Them hitting you up the arse clinches it of course. :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

Those people - it seems to be nearly everyone these days - who come up the slip road to join the motorway, indicate and pull into lane 1 as soon as they get past the chevrons. As often as not they’re going around 40mph and have completely ignored the half mile or so of slip road which would have enabled them to get up to speed and slot neatly into a gap in lane 1, instead of forcing me to slow. I’m thinking particularly of J9, M6.
