Morrisions pay and hours

hello.

does any one know what the pay is at morrisions, and what hours / shifts they work?

and also what they are like to work for?

Cheers

Prob slightly less than the check out girls

£9.61ph and a choice of 02:15 or 14:15 start times. Typical shift is 10-12 hours. (FT @ Sittingbourne)

Add-ons for working late at night, working Saturdays, working sunday/BH - but it’s only something like a time and a quarter mark-up, so the max rate you’ll ever get (working stupid Oclock on a sunday into bank holiday Monday) will be about 1.75x normal rate, which doesn’t compare well with what you can get elsewhere even on supermarkets.

Tescos have upped their rates recently, on agency at least.

cheers fella, i do wonder sometime what the pay is working full time direct for the likes of tescos and morrisions. as i read somewhere that mainstream get all its drivers to sign a wavier so they dont get paid the same hourly rate as the staff working direct for tescos.

That sounds about right for Mainstream. The thing is, you’re still better off say, earning £13.50ph “only” on sundays, whereas as a full timer you might get £18ph plus, BUT you’d have to put in 40 hours during the week before being given the sunday as overtime…

£18ph when its overtime isn’t really any better than £13.50 as an odd shift by my reckoning.

I have worked out of F&W, and those agency who get “overtime after 8 hours” always get 9 hour shifts (9 hours worked, 8 hours paid) without fail.
Those like me on “right through” rates get the 12-15 hour shifts of course… :unamused: I really don’t mind doing a 15 hour shift on a sunday, since there’s more than 2 days pay worth compared to doing a flat 8 during the week…
