Sad day today tds morgan freight close their gates after about 40 years good luck to all the lads
Sad day indeed Mark.
I hope everyone finds new employment soon. Good luck to you all.
bit of histroy or photos use to ship out with them on sally line in the early eighties.
My dad worked for them for about 15 years, Just out of interest this isnt spanners is it? My dad had a scania then a Couple of ivecos then he had morgans first super space?Do they still go over the water do you know?
not as much now .seem to be in the uk . did a run for them year a go but none since .they use to ave some go runs.
My dad did a lot to italy and spain! used to go with him all the time! They were after a driver not so long ago to do runs to poland as hotpoint have now moved over there!dont know if thats still the case!who are you on for now? and whats your name ill ask my dad if he knows you, where you about when jon boy, bobby perrin , les dean and smokey were there?
I used to see Morgan Freight in Poland on a regular basis, they used to take gear to Warsaw then re-load chipboard back for Deeside IIRC. Good bunch of lads as it goes. I overtook 1 on the A1 last week a Daf with a rollerskate axle in front of the drive.
Fly sheet
Yeah think they have 2 premiums and the rest are super space cabs and they have space cabs doing uk work, i know when i used to go with dad they were a good bunch, which is what made me think this isnt actually a bad job ill do this one day (which i have done ) but then a few left i think out of the old lot only 2 remain out of about 30. They were going there for lever bros with soap powder addative from mostyn dock to bydgocyz to an old converted bakery and reload in holzminden in germany with bottles. good gaffers there aswell.
I worked for Morgans a couple of years ago, not a bad job. They have 6 trucks on euro work still, mostly Italy and Spain, its their own work out and anything home.
thanks for the info lads , havent spoke to terry for a while. ave save one.
Is the Silver Magnum in yard theirs?
