More Model Trucks

Few Dinky/Corgi restorations I’ve got in progress…

Looking good Andyroo. What scale are they? Got my eye on a 1:24 scale Actros on ebay. Nothing special but it will keep me busy for a few days anyway and its only £18

They are both Dinky so I’m not 100% sure on Scale. Dinky cars are 1:43 but I dunno about trucks.

Is that a remote control Actros or a static model, built or kit?

Its a plastic model kit unbuilt. There are also trailers you can make for them, curtainside and reefers, they cost about £20 aswell.
Its made by Italeri.

Heres a picture of the Actros.

I just finished an Italeri Turbostar a few weeks back…

I remember… Excellent looking model mate
Do the panels come painted then you just stick them together or do you do all the painting and decals yourself??

The whole kit is unpainted and undecaled so the purist would paint the whole lot.

However with the Italeri ones there is a lot of coloured plastic so you don’t have to paint everything if you don’t want to.

On mine the cab panels are just the white plastic, the main chassis is the red plastic, the grey bumpers are the grey plastic.

There is quite a bit of detail painting to be done though…interiors, all the equipment along the chassis rail, bits of trim that are molded in white need painting grey or black, etc…and decals to be applied.

I found it very handy to have a Turbostar brochure to look at, as the instuctions aren’t great beyond basic assembly and you can correct a few errors (for example the catwalk was wrong and needed cutting about).

Things like the glazing seals can be done nicely with a black marker pen, same goes for brake lights with a red one.

So you will need paint, but what you paint is up to you, pretty much…I’m led to believe the newer kits are a bit different to the older ones as well and I haven’t seen one yet. I’m thinking of getting the Magnum next though.
