Last minute rush at my place to get 5 of us 35 hours in.
An old boy who isn’t bothering with it and is happy to let his C+E go dormant, said today that he heard from a Gregory’s driver that one of the modules entails a driving assessment.
Has he got this wrong? I thought that was for a new license holder?

Acquired rights DCPC can be whatever you or your company decide within the Jaupt training . as Acquired rights there is NO PASS or FAIL so don’t worry abut it.
sit in a room,drink tea,scratch balls,go home.
Yep, one of the modules could be an assessment but as said, no pass or fail.
Just an assessor sat with you for the day taking notes and advising you.
They will want to be with you from beginning to end so they want to see you do your daily check, manual entry on tacho if needed etc etc.
No sweat though, just treat them as any normal person don’t worry about it, do everything right, straps etc and don’t be afraid to talk to them, have a laugh and don’t make the day drag
any training company can present the module of a driving assesment to JAUPT , if there happy with it then it can be used as part of the dcpc, doesnt mean everybody has to do it though, i,ve done the same bridge bashing module twice now and seeing as my last one involves a saturday course again theres every chance i could be doing it for a 3rd time
Cheers fellas.
Ive only done 7 hours although the others have done 2 modules.
Sounds like all ■■■■■ & giggles
Joking aside it looks like a mate of mine will be the trainer. he’s pretty good as far as DCP trainers go!
I would have asked him directly but he’s gone abroad for a week.
Not at all bothered about a driving assessment but I was surprised to hear it maybe part of it.

as long as its your own or someone that don’t mind
There is nothing stopping you from taking the same module 5 times in the same week and qualifying, stupid methinks.
Should be restricted to not being able to repeat the same course in any 10 years. Pointless box ticking exercise.

yeah, ive heard that, bloody bizzare!!
Does every course have to have a driver on it who comments at every stage, and relates to or betters every tale of experience?
I’m on a DCPC course tomorrow and to rub salt in the wound, it’s at an ■■■■■■■■ Farm (golf course). I’m missing out on one of my favourite runs aswell to do it, although I will get a lie in tomorrow and my firm’s paying.
More likely you will do all 35 hours in a classroom as that is the cheapest option
If desperate and only one type of 7 hours course is available then do it 5 times
Just completed 3 days of cpc and the trainer commented to us that there is talk that the courses, at some future date, might include a written test which will be pass or fail…and also, that a module once taken cannot be repeated.
As said, only ‘talk of’ at the moment.
One of Gregory’s modules did involve a driving assessment, but that was only because they chose to. Time didn’t allow everybody to do this one.

Imagine if there was, half of us might be out of a job:lol:
One thing is certain, it’s got to change from it’s current format.

I wish it would, then you all really would have something to moan about

That’s where the story about the driving assessment my colleague came with. He got it from a Gregory’s driver.
Maybe they need driving assessments

that could be a blessing
Well apparently I’m doing it wrong. I start at 4am so by 10am I’m meant to have a 30 minute break. So why do I not get infringements for having just 15 then?
I was also informed that driving in quarries isn’t driving time. It wasn’t, about 10 years ago.
