More advice needed

It’s against the law to provide a ‘bad’ reference. They can provide details using statistics (sickness and punctuality) but can’t say he was a ■■■■ and nobody liked him.
Some firms have a no reference policy.
Chances are that if you’ve already met him then a reference isn’t going to sway his opinion too much.

Thanks for the advice, yes I met him today and my mate who works there said I seemed nice so that’s got to be abit of hope ? I always look at negative side and assume I’m going to be let down. My current boss is already in a crap mood with me, guess I dug myself a hole there but he did say you still have a job. (Just will most likely make things hard for me)

The possible new boss said hold fire with your class 1 until I speak to the chairman but get your application form to me by Friday.
