Morbid thinking

i attended a speed awareness course last week and unlike the fella further down the thread i found it a tottal bore, but 1 question the so called teacher asked was how many of you get in your vechile in the morning and think is this the day i dont come home? i was the only one to say i do, not everyday, but being in this game and seeing plenty of accidents i do sometimes think that so…how many of you think the same? by the way the bell end of a teacher reackons hed never heard anyone say yes in the 3 years hes been doing the course, surely its not just me isit?

I think that alot & if I mention it to the other half she tells me to ■■■■ off :unamused: :unamused:

i used to get in to my vechile on the monday morning and think is this the day i dont come home?..■■■■ right i didnt.boss had me on 5 nights out that week the [zb]!

I do everytime I say goodbye to the wee man…

no dbk23, its not just you.
I sometimes think along those lines before I drive or ride.
I try to keep it in my mind as a very good friend of mine lost his father in a truck accident.

I always find that seeing this trailer on the side of the A1 makes all your worries go away!!
Maybe The Lord Jesus Christ works at the Cafe next left!!

I get those thoughts too. Always give my two kids a big kiss and a cuddle when they go to bed on a Sunday night, just incase it’s the last

i dont have thoughts like that as that would drive me mad

That’s why we’d never get off the boat without making up no matter how much talking or fighting had been going on the night before.

I did motorbike courier work for 5 years. People used to say “see you tomorrow” and I’d say “not if I die on the way home”. I was joking but had a few friends who didn’t make it into work again. You never know what’s around the next corner, literally, but I still go out and enjoy every day regardless of wether it’s my last or not.

Sent from somewhere… Not sure where exactly but I’m probably only a bit lost

Never really think that when im in a vehicle, I always hope i will be able to keep myself safe when behind the wheel, When i go out on my bike on the other hand the though that i might not come home is always in the back of my mind

I’ve started to think that way recently, maybe it’s because of all the accidents I’m hearing about lately or maybe because I don’t live too far from Taunton where the big pile up was. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve come across an accident and wondered if I would of been in the middle of it if I hadn’t taken that 45 when I did or got tipped a bit quicker some where. I leave for work on a Monday morning and arrive back home on Friday afternoon but when I say goodbye to the kids when the wife drops me off at the lorry I do wonder will it be for the last time.

Must say, I used to get a bad feeling sometimes before a trip. No particular reason, it would just happen sometimes. Usually wore off within a few hours as reality caught up and the daily/nightly grind got going.

Can’t say I have thought that but I do find myself thinking if I’m going to get hurt when working I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the fault of a “Professional Driver”… :imp:

Never, i always think positive, same when I get on my bike, life is short enough as it is, without thinking it just might be even shorter :unamused:
However, I am looking forward to death, had a good life, done lot`s and death seems it would be the ultimate buzz… :sunglasses:

You should post that in the spelling mistake thread!

while not toally thinking today may be my last i do have a attitude that i get there when i get there and if it means stopping because i am tired or slowing in bad weather then i guess that counts! my normal trail of thought is i would rather be 10mins late in this world than 5 mins early in the next :open_mouth: .

Yes life is too short. But the simple truth is, a lot of these “accidents” are avoidable. Slow down, leave room and rest.
I used to drive balls out everywhere, do silly stints of driving with eyes like slits. Not now. I’m tired…Into the services for at least an hours kip.
If I do die today…It won’t be my fault. :sunglasses:
