Where we are based we have 3 ways out of the yard, 1 way which prob 40% of our work goes has an 11’6 bridge, the old wagons went under no issues.
1st of the new fleet arrives, 12’5, and your looking at just short of a 3 mile round trip to get to the adjoining junction at the other end of the bridge.
Daft thing is the bodybuilder came in and we had the fortune of being asked what specs we want from the wagons, and we nailed it through that they have to get under the bridge,
Can see some office monkey getting a kicking for signing the job off when the drawings came in
Zetorpilot:
Any chance of getting the road under the bridge dug out a bit deeper?
Dunno about getting it dug out, but I’m sure it won’t be long before some guys in a ■■■■■■ van talking like the famous Irish patriot Brad Pitt will offer to resurface any diggings.
bald bloke:
Maybe the office bod got a back hander to get these specific models, it happened at a place I worked years and eventually this bod got booted out.
Railway lines have often been there upto 200 years. Seems a daft place putting a transport yard near one in the first place, assuming that’s the case here don’t it?

Depends what your work is. Say a fleet of 8 wheel tippers not a problem. Trunking with double dec trailers not so good.
where i work, we had a couple of 14’6 curtainsiders on demo and ordered them, we ended up with around 300 plus 15’3 trailers. nobody seems bothered thou, they came over around a period of a year, nothing got said that they were the wrong spec.
