Monday morning snow

Got up usual time o about 2" of snow, txt manager he said give it an hour or so and ring in.
Supposed to be Harrogate to Manchester and I’m not anxious to join a queue on M62
Anybody on my favourite Mway now? If so what’s it like?
Jim

Motorway cameras always worth a check if you need to see before you leave, this link should cover most of your route:

Over the Pennines look clear of snow right now, just lots of traffic (To be expected on a Monday morning!)

Most of the snow is on the A1/M1

Cheers Martin I’m at work now no point in setting off just yet give it an hour or so for traffic to die down( hopefully)
Jim

Just driven over Shap and road was getting quite well layered with snow.

Im sat on ferrybridge services and the snow has just about gone now. m1 j29 to m18 and the m180 were all clear this morning.

Mission accomplished very little snow after Leeds non at all in Manchester rock on you Red roses ! The sun was shining

It WAS fun in Harrogate … I set 04 15am … couldn’t even get up Skipton road from New Park … got about 100yds ( 2 wagons sat @ roundabout - couldn’t get traction ) … turned … went up Ripon Road … took 10 mins crawling with wheels spinning
No sign of snow plough / gritter … got to A1 @ Bramham … just 1 lane of wheel marks :unamused:
Not as if this wasn’t forecast

There were a couple stuck on wormald green bank, rumour had it the police were stopping anymore coming along the 61 till a gritter/plough had been along it

New you’d enjoy it Rustler, I left Ripley at 930 didn’t even bother trying Harrogate went straight to Ripon then A1
2 easy hours to Manchester just off East Lancs road
Rather be born lucky than rich !

and thats why this countrys ■■■■■■, 2" of snow and you ring in

It does bring out the muppetry in drivers, one of DHL’s finest managed to “jackknife” his truck on a straight piece of 3 lane motorway at Brahman.
Most likely wandered on to the snow covered hard shoulder on cruise control.

Passed this on me way out early doors, must of just happened driver was wandering round all over then passed 3 coppers on their way to it. Then not a quarter of a mile behind it was a 4x4 that had rolled amazing what a little snow can do
