Has anybody failed there module 4?
If so how come? What would you do different?

I failed on load restraint. My instructor (I use the term loosely) didn’t devote much time to demonstrating it. I was just given all the restraints and allowed to play.
What did you fail on?
I’ve got it next week just wanted to know if there is anything I should be more aware and ask more questions to the Instructor before the test
I was very close to fail. I did never mention number plates on the pre trip inpection and that tyres must be properly inflated. Another thing was to check if speedo works during a brake test. Examiner said: as a bus driver you should check a pressure at least once a week, but all we do is a visual check… Lots of rubbish to get some more £££.
I never had to play with trolley, as it was cold and windy, but nloody questions were pain in the back.
Try to mention anything that might be important, start from top markers then windscreen wipers tax disc, oil, water, lights and number plates… Talk talk talk. Non stop. Check everything or even more…
Get proper training and remember as much of it as you can. Unusual to get a Mod 4 fail. Use the check sheet for the last question.

We had 1 guy fail in 2011, our only fail. The immigration question. He forgot to check the fuel cap then forgot to check inside the cab. Got 10 for the question. Strange because he got 90% overall and failed.
I would suggest anybody wanting to pass this particular test uses a trainer that knows how to pass it.
About 1 in 5 in my experience has to demonstrate the load securing device. Make sure your trainer has the equipment.

I had a trainer who was fantastic at getting me through the driving but had no idea how to teach Mod4.
I ended up using a different school and came away with a clean sheet.
Peter Smythe:
Use the check sheet for the last question.
I know of one driver who failed for not remembering he could use that - even after 3 prompts by the examiner = nerves !!
Thanks for the response, you say a sheet for the last question what sheets this?
Thanks
You can write down the check list for the last question, normally they give you a small sheet or piece of paper with it all on.

I past by reading that over and over till it stuck. Someone i went with failed for only checking one tyre for defects so remember to check all 4. They will also nudge you in the right direction if your close to the answer and just missing a little out.
Yeh to be honest the examiners are quite helpful, they will prompt you and steer you in the right direction if your forgetting something.
My training school were good in the driver training, but no to involved with the mod4 stuff, which is weird because the training school I was using, had recently turned their HQ into a test centre for the mod4.
