When I was doing training I asked about tacho and was told as your not making money from it it’s classed as private use so no tacho needed.
I gotta say, some of these case studies questions are ridiculous.
There is one section covering PLC legalities and sole trader agreements. I could understand that kind of stuff if I was actually opening a business, but all that legal stuff goes straight over my head. It’s something that I might have looked into should I be planning on opening my own business, I find it strange that these questions are a mandatory part of this test.
I get the whole EU regulations bit, restrictions and safety scenarios, but A LOT of this mod 2 stuff is just useless, IMHO. It’s like the DSA thought “how else can we stitch up another £30 out of new drivers? I know, we’ll introduce ANOTHER written test, and throw in there topics that are basically irrelevant to the safety of the load, securing of the vehicle and customer satisfaction”
I fully understand the mod 4 part, I get why that practical exam would be useful, but this mod 2 is looking like it could be complicated on the day. I’ve even paid £18 to a site called “drivertheory4all” and they have a simulation of the full case studies. A lot of it is common sense, but some of the questions are just pointless. I’d have thought the theory and hazard perception would have been adequate!

You are referring to periodic dcpc whereas this thread is about initial dcpc
You will probably get a better response on the main forum
Themoocher:
No tacho either.
Just put foot down n drive.
Over 7.5t will need tacho, even for private use.
