After browsing this thread a number of times i feel like i am catching the bug, and with an expected 8-10 weeks on my hands after an upcoming operation, nows the time.
I have seen a Tamiya 1/24 scale truck on ebay, but some of the feedback leaves a bit to be desired, so any help from you guys will be a great help in me getting started.
Thanks Guys

hi tc trans, if you work for the company in your avatar pic, then theres a bloke from your firm who is into model trucks. his names murph, he made a smart looking model of his truck which is on page 2 of this thread mate…pete
TC, there’s a pretty good model shop in Milton Keynes shopping centre -Modelzone, they sometimes have some bargains in there, just after Xmas and into the new year they were selling a 1/24th Merc Actros for £13.99p they had sold out when I asked for one but were getting some more in later on. If you are just starting modelling they also sell everything you might need to make one
PS - I dont work for them

Did you get that from Tim on Trentham Road cant remember the name of the shop■■?
If so he is very helpful and friendly and unfortunately the only place in Stoke thats open for models and accessories.
I did mate, Affinity models, I think it is called, only knew it was there when driving past last Sunday, was very helpful, had also got a Tamiya Radio control Scania in that I have my eye on if all goes well with this one
Well we have a Chassis
and a V8 engine
So far so good
Couple of questions
Whats good for getting rid of excess glue?
When should you paint the model?
And WTF does “hot rivet” mean as it says a few times in the instructions■■?
not sure about the glue mate, maybe scrape it with a craft knife.
the painting, well i usually build the chassis up paint that and if the wheels are going to be the same colour do them too. then build the engine and paint that. the interior next and finally i would do the cab.
hot rivet?. i would assume thats for the streering?, if im correct alls you do is heat up a knife and press it against the area in question, (usually a pin on the streering rod). this enables the streering to work. if you dont want the streering working just glue it mate.
you can try joining truckmodelworld.com . it has a forum where theres plenty of people who can give you advice mate. some great pictures on there too.
finally i remember a review in truck model world for the iveco turbostar the person who built it said it was ideal for someone attempting a first build so think you made the right choice… ps its looking good mate.
Engine and chassis together with wheels on.
Im enjoying this!
