YOUR FLYING NOW BUGCOS
YOUR DOING WELL HAVE YOU GLUED ON THE WHEELS YET
looking good mate, glad your enjoying it.
Wheres the weekend gone■■? This is as far as Ive got, had a whale of a time doing it time as flown by, more next weekend hopefully
Made a start on the cab, cant believe the detail on these things!
I know Ive not painted it, but I aint got any paint, and I couldnt wait till next weekend to get some, was having too much fun building it. Will paint it when its finished.
bug, just one thing mate, if you want to spray the cab then halfords hycote rattle cans are great to use, remeber to primer the cab. i usually build the cab leaving off the rear bulkhead. spray the cab, let it harden then fit the glass and slide in the interior finally fitting the rear bulkhead…pete
What primer do you use Pete, stuff from a model shop?
no mate halfords hycote primer, the cab plastic is white isnt it?, so grey primer wil be fine. remember to make sure all parts are given a good clean and left to dry naturally before painting it mate…pete
been doing this Italeri Magnum for a few weeks now and its nearly finished
rather than go for the look on the box I,decided to go for the Jeremy clarkson look with matt black paint , just needs touching up in a few places and the cab fitting properly
bugcos:
What primer do you use Pete, stuff from a model shop?
A tin of grey primer from Smithsons or Autotec will be about £4.00 which is more or less the same price as a model shop but you get at least twice the amount.
I did buy a can of Wilko’s own brand rattle can. £3.29 for a big can I must admit it sprays better than I thought it would they only have limited colours though.
heres some pics from an r/c forum that im on of other members trucks.

Daft question, how do you apply the decals■■?
The decals are waterslide transfers, so you need to cut around the decal that you want to put on as close as possible to the actual artwork, whether it is lettering or a logo etc. Using a dish or saucer with warm clean water in, place the decal in the water for only about 30 secs, lift it out and try to see if the decal will slide from the backing paper, be gentle if it doesn’t move put it back in the water for another half a min. Once the decal seems to move freely on the backing paper move one edge of the decal off its backing and place this against the model. Hold with say a fine paintbrush and slowly slide the backing paper out leaving the decal behind.
You can wet the area with your brush just before placing the decal as this helps to position it, a couple of drops of washing up liquid in the water also helps the decal move easier when placing on the model. Once your happy with the position LEAVE IT! to dry, if it still needs tweaking you can by using a wet brush but don’t flood it as the decal will just float around. Practise makes perfect but it isn’t difficult. The decal might curl up in the water but don’t worry that’s normal. Try not to leave it in the water too long either as the decal can float off the backing and it is a game of ‘chasey’ trying to retrieve it.
Some modellers seal the decal with clear varnish (model type) but Johnsons Klear Floor Polish is better and can be brushed on when the decal is properly dry without leaving brushmarks and a bottle lasts forever. Hope this helps, good luck. Franky.
Nearly finished now
bugos, youve made a good build of that iveco mate, now for the main question…are you about to come over to the dark side?..lol. tilt tilt trailer on the back would look great…pete
My next project is already on its way pete, have really enjoyed building it, Ive finished it now, but not put the pics on here yet. Will definetely get a couple of trailers though. The only thing thats let me down is when I was putting the windows in, i got some glie on em and cant get it off, but apart from that Im well chuffed with it, gonna paint it eventually.
