Some bang on photos on your flicker page harryvr6,i used to have a e reg golf gti about 20yrs ago and loved it,only trouble was everybody else did and in the end i had to sell it because it got nicked twice and broke into that many times i couldnt afford to insure it,

Thank you mate, I’m a long standing vw fan! I’m currently on my 4th mk2 golf now, the grey h reg on my page. I keep meaning to get some better photos of it at weekends but I never seem to get around to it!

I know what you mean about the popularity of the golf, insurance can still be a problem! Mine had an engine conversion from a previous owner, as the engine is from a later model it has proved tricky to explain to certain insurance companies (shouldn’t have been too much of a problem really) but I’m with a specialist now!

It’s amazing the reaction to the car from people, lots of nice comments and offers to buy it!

I’d swap it for a transcon or an f12 globie though!

Unfortunately not got my licence hence the model!

Cheers, stew (harryvr6).

So sorry jimski! I completely missed your post, apologies. Thank you very much mate, if you think it’s good I’m happy mate!

I would love to add some weathering to it yes, I’m not as fussed about ruining it as I thought I would be if that makes sense! It would only be a very light and subtle attempt at adding some character to it, I may treat myself to a cheapo airbrush and get cracking. The builds you have done look fantastic, very realistic. If we lived closer I would let you loose on the volvo!

Thanks again, stew.

Consettbell: that is a really neat and accurate build, I’ve got something a little more modern compared to the f12 in the pipeline to build, and this is how I’d like mine to look.

Cheers, stew.

Thank you very much!

I always wanted to build this truck, I used to subscribe to trucking international when I was a kid, everyone one else got match magazine or shoot! I got trucking international ha ha! I knew I had the article at my parents house, and once I found it that was my mind made up. Prior to this, I couldn’t find any pictures on the Internet of this truck, then suddenly I was able to locate some. I don’t know if ederveen transport is still operating ?

I must admit to be very happy with the murals, it has certainly given me the confidence to try something like this again in the future. I know bertus had a flat top f12 prior to this globetrotter, and then his trucks got even more fancy and elaborate but for me this one which was featured in the magazine is a classic custom euro truck, just the right balance of chrome and paint without spoiling that classic volvo template.

Thanks again, stew.

Yes Gerry good build, Good to see you had another crack at a livestock trailer…
