No bother

Got a Truck Model World in this morning that’s the last from Traplet now going to be done by IG so I wonder what will happen to their website as it is by Traplet and is one of quite a few sites that they run for the other mags. they produce. No that I will miss the website as I am one of the many that got locked out of it about 2yrs ago. I also wonder if IG will review the way the kit reviews are done at the moment most of the reviews appear to be done by the editor but surely to get a fairer review these should be handed out to your average kit builder to evaluate.
Another one is KFS doing 4/5 page reviews of his own product I mean that guy isny going to say there is anything wrong with it is he. Worse still if he is paid for the article he is having two bites at the cherry. Eddie.

Was that the one with the man tga on the cover

No this is July issue has a 141 on the cover. Eddie.

Sad news indeed Eddie, we’ll have to see what happens, you don’t get paid much for an article in TMW, but that’s not why most of us did it.

Irish Lorries I’ve always got something on the work bench, the average build for me is about 9 months, life usually gets in the way some where along the line.

Jeff

Hope tmw doesn’t end I always like seeing the ideas some of them come up with like that t cab scania 142 8x4 with earlier a Mack or a kenworth sleeper

Hay Harry the f12 looking well so far your almost done

Hi Irish lorries and thank you, I’m really happy with the paint, I was pulling my hair out with it at times. One coat would go on mint then it would dry dull, I didn’t want to muck it up with too many coats of paint and I admit it was a bugger to scalpel through the paint today in order to re establish the whereabouts of the masking tape!

Just needs a little bit of tidying up and a few trick decals I’ve made for the roof sides and I’ll be really happy with it then!

Hope you manage to track down the kits you need and don’t be afraid to practice and learn along the way with them.

Thanks, harryvr6

I think there’s now a nationwide shortage of halfords ‘volkswagen maritime blue’ !!

I think adding the red visor will transform the look, still got a lot to do though, it’s finally getting there now!

Cheers, harryvr6.

Last one for now,

I only need a 143 streamline kit which I could probably get a my local model shop if he’s ever open

Im (patiently :unamused: ) awaiting Corgi to release the 1/50 th. scale Guy 8 wheeler bearing the name of Redpath Bros, who were based in Wooler, Northumberland . Until then , I can not paint the scratchbuilt livestock body, so its shown here unpainted, next to
a photograph copy of a print.

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Ive mounted the body on a Corgi model to show how big the 2 deck cattle/4 deck sheep container appeared when constructed in the mid-Sixties . Very slowwly around corners , and no sudden braking . Maybe some of you North-easterners can remember this beast` ?

A coat of primer applied , and now it needs a bit of filler along the luton lower horizontal edge.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

“Little & Large” of the same 1/50 th. scale.
The Albion is a British Transport Classics model , with a 1950s design of a Scottish-built livestock float` , - the Scottish name.

Now , come on , Mr. Corgi ,…I`m waiting for the Redpath Bros. Guy. Although it was catalogued for May 2014 release ,
it will eventually be available around Christmas time . :unamused:

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

A view showing the 2 side panels during the early stages of construction.
About 30 hours` work so far ,…from drawing-up on a sheet of paper ; gathering many assorted plastic strips and card ; spacing ;
cutting ; glueing (all square ) . :unamused:

It`s just a hobby… :exclamation:

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

That body looks great obviously a lot of attention to detail comes to mind CWM. I have mind o that motor used to see it on the A1 another one with a high body was an AEC I canny mind the operator but I think it was from the borders too. They must have been a bit of a handfull in some of the farms as they were never to fussy about the state o their roads. Eddie.

PS just come in mind o this one I think the body would be a PENMAN one as the photo was taken on the Whitesands Dumfries.

Hi “ERFGuy” ,
Thanks for the added information.
That is a Penman body for sure . They had a unique design for the ramp , with a deep underslung , making the loading angle less steep.

The double decker you are thinking about was A.E.Cs., owned by Thomas Muckle of Rothbury.
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
