MODEL TRUCKS

F86 junkie you near to look at Truck Model World Forum nice bunch of guys on there. Track down a guy called Chris Moxham decals he’ll sort you out with livery in any scale.

Jeff…

I repainted two of Corgi`s Houghton livestock semi-trailers , and made a turntable dolly coupling.
The Foden unit was converted to double drive .
An ASAM Leyland Freighter white metal kit was bought to replicate the actual wagon I owned, and I scratchbuilt the Houghton-design
livestock body frame in plastic , using very thin aluminium strips for the panels.

The plaque was a tongue-in-cheek roadtrain theme ,- the wording reference taken from the ■■■ Pistols` album “Never mind the b…” :unamused:

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

That looks smart Roy I hope you got the Alpha engine chipped to cope with the extra weight. Eddie.

A code3 the unit is made of parts from three different Scania’s out of the spares box and the fridge trailer was a Corgi curtainsider the decals were done on the puter with Crafty Computer waterslide clear paper. Eddie.

Here is my latest build, it is an AEC Mercury in National Benzole livery. The model is mainly scratchbuilt, the tank from an old toy picked up in a charity shop and heavily modified. Thanks to Eddie Waugh (erfguy) for his excellent cab drawing as the inspiration for this build!:

and with an old stablemate:

Cheers

Hi all, would anyone know where I could find models of JNSN (Jensen Motors Ltd. of West Bromwich) models??

I do have a white metal kit of the 6 tonner as well as the Dinky Jen-Tug, but is there anything else to be found?
www.jensenholland.nl
Thanks

I scratchbuilt this one it is a replica of one that used to run through our village on its way south. the model is 1/24th scale and made mainly of Plasticard.

J W Nicol of Kilmarnock ran about 6 Jensons so must have quite liked them when they were unable to get any more they went for a Seddon and Bedfords. Eddie.

Just finished this model of a lorry my dad drove for William Elvys in Sittingbourne. Based on a Tri-Ang die cast chassis with scratch built body and bits and pieces from the spares box, I think its came out pretty well. The decals came from Chris Moxham (Decal Man) and were easy to work with and good quality.

Lovely peice of work MarkR !

Regards Jimski

Looks good Mark! My Dad parked in Elvy’s yard for a while along with Ron Wood and some other Milton Pipes subbies. I was planning a Hammonds or Milton Pipes model but just to busy at the moment with work.

Thanks…my dad worked for Elvys straight from school (mid 60s) and drove for them on & off until they packed up. I’d like to make a model of one of their later lorries if I could get some photos to get the detail right. Do you remember the F10 in Milton Pipes livery? or the owner driver who parked in Elvys yard with the white F10 with the blue stripes. Wish I’d taken some photos back then.

The blue and white Volvo’s were driven by Colin Sillcock and Derek Lake who went on to be owner drivers with P cab Scania’s, but sorry no photos from those days! Italeri are re-releasing the F12 model so maybe a Milton Pipes Volvo could be an idea.

I built this in 1985 (29 years ago)from an Italeri kit, its a copy of a WHB vehicle to which they had 3 off at the time and this one was A420 OFC, I drove it many times. One of my friends was the normal driver running regular Italy and the boss of WHB was a good mate. Its been in my loft for the last 15 years so today I got it out and gave it a wash in the shower, lol. The writing on the cab was done originally from WHB letterheads hence the reason the white paper changed colour. Bits are a bit fragile now but I will take some time to put it back together again. Regards…

When I first started to build model trucks ( in the early 1990s ) , there was only a limited range from Italeri , Revel , and A.M.T. The after-market` manufacturers , such as K.F.S. and M. & G. were only in their infancy at that time. Times have certainly changed .

I adapted a DAF 95 cab onto a 2800 rigid model without much difficulty , then constructed the side bars for both the DAF and the
drawbar trailer. This was only my third 1/24 th. scale model I`d built.

The name was fictitious , based on our home name & telephone, …but it caused a later problem when it was spotted by a V.A.T. officer.
He had come to make a ( routine  ) check on our family business records, and he asked how long " Ingmire Haulage Ltd. " had been
trading , because he , at the Inland Revenue/V.A.T. had no knowledge of such a Company. :unamused: :open_mouth:
After my trying to explain that it was not a true business name , he burst out laughing , saying it was a wind-up .
He also told me that (some :unamused: ) V.A.T. inspectors have a sense of humour too.

Thanks to “Oldish Joda” for his contribution.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.

.

Impressive model!!!

A build using the Emhar 1:24 LWB Bedford, a long gone company from my village.
