Jim, I think you’ll find that these ‘Rivet Counters’ couldn’t make a decent Model if they tried
Not just the rivet counters, I bet there’s only a handful of people on the planet who could make a model as realistic as the ones Jimski does
You’re not wrong there newmercman
fellas… chill out. twas nothing but a bit of fun. the model is fantastic.
jimski please would you consider selling me the 89 I love it regards rowland

Back in the eighties I met a guy in Dover who asked if he could take some pictures of my truck. He was from the Carlisle area and said he was called Malcolm the Model man. I just wondered if any body had heard or knew of him.malcolm fletcher, i have met him a couple of times, nice fellow if a bit odd, he was an accountant in the RAF and a big truck nut - his models had me in awe when i was a kid, but looking back it was mainly the great decals a mate of his used to make for him, rather than the model making itself?
he set off on a trip with one of my subbies to turkey a few years ago, but bailed out at maria’s for some unknown reason and returned to UK with one of pulleyn’s - not heard from or of him since
Let you know all - Malcolm Fletcher has passed away on last Wednesday
Nick Garlick posted on Facebook yesterday
"Hi, I’m posting a few photos of my great friend (Uncle) Malcolm Fletcher, who sadly died on Wednesday afternoon. Malc was a huge enthusiast about international transport and especialy overland transport to the Middle East. He rode shotgun with many of us to far flug destinations and became part of the driving community. His many great photos are shared far and wide. Malc came with me on a couple of trips to Tunisia and Turkey. He will be very sadly missed and leaves behind his wife Gilly and daughter Lisa with her family. Remember people life is short so live it long, make many friends and enjoy yourselves. RIP Uncle. see you at another border soon on the “Old Road”
My message -
I salute you ‘Uncle’ Malcolm Fletcher We will miss him in trucking community… he is down to earth person… I will never forget him… I have always admires on his modelling, travelling and knowledges… we share the same enthusiasm…Rest in Peace… my deepest condolences to the family… Enjoy the long distance journey to heaven + please don’t forget put TIR plate on!

Hi Jorg hope your keeping well, many thanks! Yes I’m hoping to be at Gaydon this year it all depends on the work situation which I will know at about 25-27 of this month the F89 will be there, I’m in the finishing stages of the trailer, just waiting for decals to come! Are you coming over to Gaydon?? Hope so would love to see your 141 !!
Regards Jimski
Hi Jimski!
Yes, we will come in September.
ERFman offered us to join his friends at his yard to go together the route to gaydon.
We are really looking forward to join this festival because it’s the first time to go to england by lorry.
A friend with his Volvo F10 is coming with me.
Hope to meet you and your model-trucks in the real life!
Bye for now!
Jörg
I have just seen this about Malcolm Fletcher I first got to know Malcolm in the late 70’s I had an article about my models in T&D and he got in touch and asked if I could maybe scratchbuild the odd cab for him if they weren’t available in the Herpa etc. ranges so over the years I have done a few for him. I got him to come to one of Mick Haytons rallies at Dumfries with his models and they were a great success not only the number alone but it was the individual liveries which was to set his collection aside from others over the years. He told me a while back that he had 3000 in the collection. He could also tell some great stories of the places he had been to and to someone who has never left these shores it was a pleasure to listen to him talk about the trucks and people who drove them.
Condolences to GILL & LISA and family. RIP MALCOLM. Eddie and Family.
