just saved the pic to pc, and then zoomed it in, and the lights are obviously cosher, so therefore its a real truck, and I would suggest the picture taken for the box cover of the model.

I’m pretty sure that’s an old Volvo marketing photo. I had that same picture
poster size on my bedroom wall back in the early 80s. 
I got it from a guy who worked at the factory in Irvine.

You are both right now,the picture is of a real truck it was a volvo promotional shot taken by the late great Pat Kennet and it was a poster ,i have never seen one since i missed out on one at a volvo stand at the Kent County Show in the early 80’s i was gutted but i was only 11 years old at the time.I have got the picture in a larger size and i got it from Pat but my photobucket is playing up so i can’t post it on here.

Hey! Just had a look and I’ve got that model, still in the box from the '70s I think it was. Didn’t start it as I was halfway through building a Chevy Titon 90 and it’s still half done! is that a record do you think The Volvo comes complete with a Michelin man to sit on the roof!!

Heres another one done. Loads of extras on this one. Some from KFS and some scratchbuilt. Based on the old Italeri Turbo truck 142 with an intercooler grille added and the steering switched to RHD. Upright stacks and trunking. Loads of roof furniture, a few extra lights, sliding 5th wheel and mud flaps all round!
Well done to all of you, there is some real craftmanship on show here
