Mod 4 CPC booking advice needed!

Right, I went online to book my module4 test, and some of the wording in the booking confirmation has got me a bit worried…

This is what it says on their website when I log in to check the test…

Date and time of test: Apr 2012 11:05
Fee: £55.00
Status: Booked
Last date to cancel: Apr 2012
Test category / vehicle details | not changed
Test category: CCPC
Theory test expiry date: Sunday 13 Apr 2014

And even in the email it calls it a “CCPC Practical driving test appointment”

I can’t find anywhere that it should be called a “driving test appointment”, but it does in the email… did I book the right one? I thought I was booking the Drivers CPC Module 4… and I’m a bit worried now…

(I have taken out the specific dates as I’m a paranoid old git…)

Any advice from experience is greatly appreciated!

And as its a practical it must be a mod 4

Why is your trainer not booking it for you ■■?

Not an aficionado on IDCPC, but the booking fee won’t be the for the proper practical driving test as that’s £115.
I believe the Mod4 is a practical test though, strapping, loading etc.

I wasn’t aware there was a seperate cpc for category c… possibly just stating that I just have the class c license…

True it is a practical test… but a practical ‘driving’ test?

The trainer block books a certain number of module 3 tests a week, and if he can get two people to do their CPC on the same day, he can use one of the mod3 test slots to do 2 CPC tests as together, they take up about the same time… However my work likes to mess me around with my shifts, and I need to book holidays 6 weeks in advance, so the only days I can (almost) guarantee having off are monday and tuesday (even though I work tuesday night 7pm-7am, I’m always up for the day) so he told me that if I wanted to just book it on the day that’s good for me, he will slot me in and work the other students lessons around when I need to take my test… make any sense?

Basically what I’m after is if someone here has booked a mod4 online, can you check your emails and see if they are all called the same thing “CCPC Practical driving test” cause if not, I’m gonna have to go find where I went wrong…

Yes you have booked the right test.

You will need to give the vehicle dimensions at some stage

Why do they need the vehicle dimensions, is that so they know how long the walk round check will take

You’ve booked the right test but I’m concerned there’s no mention of training. Seems strange your trainer couldn’t or wouldn’t arrange this test for you.

But all the best, Pete

Hi TokenYank

I am not sure that you are aware this is a test taken at the driving test centre with a vehicle and instructor needed on the day. Why would you want to book your own test when the trainer might not have a vehicle available on that day?

As Peter says there is no mention of any training. For example have you had access to load securing demonstration trolley yet? A full Mod 4 training session is about 2 hours, sometimes a bit longer.

Your trainer should know how and when to book the test. Typically he will probably tie it in with other candidates needing the same test.

But not all is lost as it is possible for you or your trainer to amend or cancel your booking.

Talk to a local trainer and get some advice.

Already arranged with the trainer that I would book my own test, and he would work his other students around my test that day, due to my work commitments preventing me from being able to go up to the training place and just do it whenever he has someone else who needs to do their mod4, where he would use one of the block booked slots to get both of our mod4’s done…

So I have already sorted all that, I was just concerned that it was called a ‘ccpc driving test’ in case I had booked the wrong one…

Thanks for the replies though.
