Mobile phones.

I went into the city today on the bus & the driver was using his mobile, he had no hands free & didn’t stop to chat, he just carried happily on his speeding way one hand on the phone.
The best bit was no one seemed to give a zb.
Me, if I’m driving a PSV with passengers on I never even have my phone switched on, despite having a hands free fitted & I only ever talk on the hands free if it’s something I want to hear or someone I want to talk to when driving. So if the company I’m driving for phones up it’s a case of give me time to park up & then if you have a phone fitted in your truck I’ll call you back.
Is it me or has this new anti mobile phone law changed nothing ?.

I use a hands-free kit now.

I got fed up of the phone slipping out from being propped on my shoulder into my mug of coffee wedged between my legs which then slopped out when the phone dropped in it and burnt my . All this while at the same time I was trying to have a shave with my right hand, read the map with my left, steer the wagon with my knees and change gear with my left elbow  .

It’s definitely much easier now with a hands-free  .

Rob that’s not big and it’s not clever. You should be paying much more attention to what really matters

and not letting the coffee slop from the cup.

:open_mouth: Blimey! I’m suprised at that.
I was a baddie today and answered my nah, not hands free phone, whilst driving. I read the screen. Saw it was from my boss. And just felt something was up. I just had a feeling in my waters. (He thought i was going to do my usual. i.e not answer.)

Glad i did. Cos my crap, secured before i left sheet, was unravelling itself in the winds on the motorway. :imp: And looking in my mirrors, i could see none of this.

 So my sheet was flapping about like an old ■■■■■’s :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: flaps. :stuck_out_tongue:
Apart from that it’s not something i normally do.

Thats very shocking language from a young lady I must say

Getting back to the subject ;- I don’t use hads free because it hurts my ears, but I do use the loudspeaker option.

We have handsfree kits fitted in the cabs, so no excuse not to use them .

I think bluetooth headsets should be made illegal, not that they are dangerous, just that they make the wearer look like a total knob.

There isn’t any reason you would need to wear these headsets in cafes or ferries :open_mouth:

Agreed
Especially when your sat somewhere like a goods in office and the person sat next to you phone rings then he pulls the phone out his pocket looks whos ringing him then proceeds to chat at full volume with the blue tooth thingy whilst looking at his phone :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: :unamused: what a [zb]ing tool

simon

my phone doesnt ring when i have bluetoth connected. if im driving, i just press the button on the earpiece so i never know who is calling. it came in handy on friday though. i had calls coming every 2 minutes cos of the job offers.
i sometimes use my headset at home so i can carry on typing

I think they’re great, now when I walk round talking to myself everyone thinks I’m using a bluetooth set instead of thinking there’s some nutter talking to himself
