Hi El Deano
Thank you for the answer, and it’s good news.

Just make sure the phone charger can take 24v before using the Hella or you could kill it, and possibly the phone! A lot will but seen plenty which won’t or aren’t marked as such.

Original problem must be some quirk with Samsung as never gad a prob with DAFs. Might be worth getting a cig lighter voltage checker just to see what its registering, if anything.

Hi syramax

that’s what I did. It’s on the way, from Ebay. The HELLA/DIN is 24V on Dafs, not 12V.
Does that cut the power when you take the keys out, or does it stay on all the time(like in Scanias) ?

Here is how it looks like:

Oops should have added mine is marked 12v and as shown delivers 13.6v . Charges phone and runs sat nav no probs . However I appreciate other vehicles may differ.

I did check it, and it’s fine for 24V. All,or nearly all of the 12V stuff these days can take 24V too. But thanks for pointing it out.

It’s not a Samsung thing, someone just mentioned few comments above that the DAF killed his iPhone 8 battery. It’s a cr@ppy design by DAF, and other manufacturer products may take the power from poorly designed 12V converter, others does not. Samsung one of them.
Never had any problems with it. In Scanias are fine, vans are fine, cars are fine. It’s just the cr@ppy DAF.

It’s strange. Soon as I get my HELLA converter, I’ll be able to see the voltage, but just on the socket it says 24V. I thought all DAFs are the same. I remember 10 years ago in '57 plate DAFs I’ve used the HELLA plug to power an inverter. That was 24V for sure too,and in the new ones ('17 plate) are the same.

Got the HELLA-to-cig.lighter adaptor, and it’s working fine. My phone charges how it should be. Like in the Scania trucks before. Also a good thing to have it live/on all the time, not just when the keys are in.
Thank you all for the help.
