Can anyone reccomend a good mobile internet connection for europe mainly France,Spain and Portugal.
Thanks.
have you looked at the VODAFONE set, also look on the PC forum you may find some information on there,
I use T Mobile, I was on Vodafone but they were charging £4.50 per megabite T Mobile £1.50, still expensive though, In Germany I tend to use the wifi (T Mobile), access on the sevices if you can park close enough you can get pick a signal up in the cab, about 9 euros for an hour.
I haven’t yet found a deal wich is anything other than exhorbitant, although the much-maligned eu will probably address this rip-off next, as they have with roaming charges. I have heard of people being billed for thousands of £££s for downloading TV programmes.
In the German Autohof I was in a few weeks ago, they had free wi-fi, I had to ask for the password at the checkout desk. Dunno if it’s the same in all Autohofs but the password there was 1234567899876 ( 1 to 9, then 9 back to 6)
As Mick said, T-mobile at the services is 9 euros for an hour although it is “only” 30 euros for a month. Hardly a “deal”!

I’ll try that password next time
Was about to suggest that T-Mobile deal as that is what I used to use it was only 20euro per month when I used it. From memory you can use it at loads of places including-
ARAL garages, Tank + Rast service areas and McDonalds.
In fairness the signal is good and strong so you can sit outside and use it.
There is an Autohof on the A1 going north IIRC it’s the one before Vechta where the wi-fi is free with no code needed, but the signal is not the best outside but once inside no problem and they don’t mind you charging lappy up at same time.
if you can park close enough to the macdonalds its free wi-fi

A lot of Autohofs charge for parking now, usually between €5 - 10.
But, they also give you a voucher, of the same value as the parking charge, to use in the resto’ or shop.
Basically all they are doing is making sure they get something out of their investment.
Drivers who ‘self cater’ so are only going to take up a parking space and use the facilities, will pay something towards the up keep.
Drivers who eat in the resto’ are parking for free, because the get their fee refunded. They’ll probably only spend a few € more than the parking fee anyway, my bill is usually about €12 - 14.
For someone doing a lot of Germany this one might be intresting
