You probably won’t be able to put a face to my name, I work on the Zytek LMP2 car, so I’ll be doing the European Le Mans Series. But if you get to one of our races races come and ask for David or just the Jota Truckie.

Not quite as high as a mobile car park, but still makes me nervous when I have to load or unload it.

No handbrake, No Clutch pedal and not designed for slow controlled maneuvering and only just fits into the back of that truck. It’s a bit of a balancing act between accelerator and brake pedals.

That looks like a simulation of loading HELL. I watched the Neil Garner boys struggle with their M900R at Donington Park the other month, that looked expensive if they got it wrong.

Is that the GT4 or the N24?

It’s a GT4 Vantage with Paddle Shift, it’s far easier to load into the Artic than the rigid. Gets used more for exhibition and promo work than racing these days. This picture was taken delivering to Tunbridge Wells for a website launch.

I always found it was easier to use a winch with those paddle clutches, especially if it was a bit tired, pull it out beyond your ramps and hang it on the rear end of the car. They come off much easier than they go on.

A winch would be easier, but we have a tail lift not a ramp which would mean the winch would rub the floor and as the lift went up the car would roll back. But really these truck are designed for use at the circuit where you normally have the rest of the team to get the car on and off so not a great problem. It does become a problem on these promo jobs where you have to find somebody to help or in this case I was lucky as one of the mechys come along to help.

We’re looking at getting a van and trailer to do these kind of jobs, that would have a winch and I’d be able to do the job on my own. Been delivering a display concept road car to dealers recently, it’s really easy as it has a handbrake and is a convertible. I simply drive it onto the ramp put the handbrake on and leap out top to operate the tailift.

I’m hoping to get a media pass to the UK round but the link up with the WEC is making it hard :frowning:.

You guys sticking with the ELMS for 2013 then rather than WEC?

Thankfully there is a ELMS for us to do, although we’ll be the supporting series wherever we go I’m pleased as I don’t like doing fly away series.

The WEC nearly killed the ELMS and that would have meant teams like us who want to race LMP2 cars wouldn’t have had anywhere to go except WEC and a fly away series is horrendously expensive. I think they did it because of pressure from works teams, especially Audi, they want to be seen racing in emerging markets like Brazil, the Gulf States and China, because they get their money from the PR budget and those places are where they reckon they get the best return. but for a privater team, you have to get a driver who’s willing to pay the cost per year, I reckon a season doing WEC and Le Mans must be will over a million. That’s a lot of money to put into your hobby. :open_mouth:

Very true. Im glad they managed to save something of the ELMS, its just a shame most of your season will be supporting a national GT championship. You should be the headline event!

Still using the Z11SN with Nissan power?

Actually 3 of our races are support the Renault World Series, it would be better to be the headline series though. But at least with Renault World Series we’d get people to watch and they might not can the series before the end of it like this year. Shame we aren’t supporting them in Moscow though.
Could have been worse though Motorsport in Europe is not as good as it has been, quite a few teams and series have finished including F2 this week.

The Zytek is the same spec as last year.

What media organisation do you work for?

I run my own site, Racing-Report.com (mods, please delete if I am breaching rules. I don’t know!). We’ve done GT1 and GT3 this year, along with WEC ALMS ELMS and the three main SRO series + F1 and the Britcar 24. Next year, BGT is stepping up in place of GT3 and the grandly named GT World Series will replace GT1.

The Zytek looked great at Donington Park. Shame about the little off at Old Hairpin/Crainers. Look forward to seeing it again at Silverstone.
