WhiteWhiteWhite:
I always give the moaning driver the earliest start on a Monday and latest finish on a Friday…
I tend to use this approach and being in removals can throw in plenty of jobs with long carries, flats etc. You generally find the moaning stops quite quickly. I also tend to use this approach when I have been stitched up by a driver!
In general the guys tend not to moan or stitch me up too much and we all get on well

Or, if he’s in the office give him 20p and tell him to phone someone who gives a [zb]!
20P■■? Dont phone boxs take 2’s and 5’s anymore
what’s he moaning about?
is it a genuinne grievence?
you already have a reason to disipline him.
his moaning could bring your company into disrepute with your customers, this will damage your company/customer relations. if this carries on, then you will have no alternative than to terminate his employment.

'fraid not, and they don’t have “button B” to get your money back either
I have a policy at our place. If you would like to come and do a good days graft (and I admit I do get a days work from them) for a fair rate of pay driving good kit, I will pay you a wage by the hour. Some drivers are happier than others but thats down to them as long as the customer doesn’t complain.
If they don’t want to do this they are at the wrong company. We always have a clip hung in the canteen with application forms for other local transport companies, they are right next to the poster for the Samaritans!!!
Out of 30 drivers none have left by choice in the last 6 months!
Firm but fair i think!

And a “fair rate of pay” is…?
The quickest way to get rid, is give them the opposite of what they like, if they like early starts, give them lates, and, vice versa, nights outs, give them day runs ect ect., soon down the gang plank, without ANY prompting…works everytime.
OR, JSTFU
it beats me how they always moan bout the job , its simple if you dont like it find something else , strangly enough the moaners are still there , cant be that bad if they dont leave ,or am i missing something?

Which is why you’ll find the crafty driver asking for earlies when he wants lates, nights out when he wants day runs … because he’ll have worked out that the best way to play ■■■■ poor management is at their own game.
There are quite a few companies I work for where I do exactly as I’m told. Then when the day zb’s up they can’t come looking at me for their inadequacies.

im just waiting for any reason to sack him
^^^ This is my preferred approach!
It’s the old bad apple scenario, get rid of it before the whole barrell goes rotten. If all else fails, make his life a misery until he can’t take any more and leaves of his own accord…
Then he takes you to a tribunal for “Constructive dismissal” You,d better hope that if one of your drivers is currently ■■■■■■ off with you, he aint reading this

You my boy, are the 1%, i`m talking about the your mates
My style worked, because it got rid of the chaff, and, kept the ship on an even keel, EVERYTIME
And, 95% of the lads who worked with me, were with me 10+ years, so, they must have appreciated the managment style
And, when the new touchy feely bunch turned up, who do they ring with their problems, you got it, ME
And, one by one, they now work with me again
