I’m booked in there at 1pm tomorrow to deliver 9 pallets. This is my only drop for the day (travelling down from the Cotswolds) so I’m hoping they’ll be flexible and let me unload earlier in the morning. Does anyone know how strict with times they are? I don’t fancy working until late as I need to start early on Wednesday.
Can’t you ring them■■?
Just a thought

Yes but I might get the “no you’re booked in for 1pm” nonsense, whereas if I roll up early and park in the yard…
It has worked in a few places but apparently Bako in Cullompton don’t like it. Just wondered if it was a Devonshire thing.
Careful your being areaist, districtist, shireist
The guys on the frozen goods in are normally ok, they’ll tip you early if there’s no one else there.
But there’s no room to park in their yard, you need to park outside on the road and walk in.
No idea about the ambient goods in though.
I’ve never had trouble anywhere before (even Swithenbanks at Hoddesdon have tipped me twice when I wasn’t even booked in and at least twice when I was several hours early), being flour with only one type on each pallet they’re easy to check in. I did try to call but my delivery notes say they shut at 14.30. So many foodservice places only work half a day.
I did a run around Devon and Cornwall a couple of months ago, dropping off food ingredients. Balkavor at cullompton were one of the sites, and I’m pretty sure mj baker were on the list as well. In all cases I just turned up when I got there and got tipped straight away, even though I was nowhere near the booking times. Just go and try, be happy (!) and friendly, you’ll probably be ok.

One of our relief drivers goes there normally with an old motor (too much to fit on our Devon run) and he always gets there around 8am without problems.
I can’t remember where it was but (I’m thinking DSV at Segensworth), I heard a driver once say that drivers who turned up way before their booking times were “plain '■■■■■■ selfish.”
I take it he was always made to wait.
All went well, I arrived at 7.55am and was on my at 8.10. Just mowed our lawn, running the bath before I have a sleep and I’m being paid until 3pm.
