Not forgetting Mr gherkin who seemed to think tebay was reasonably close to Cairnryan

Here you go, a quick lesson, if it’s been dropped up in the clouds, STOP (using the vehicles brakes, not the rear of the cab), raise the suspension (using the Raisy Suspension Buttony thing) & lower the trailer (using the Windy Handle in Low Gear) on to the 5th wheel.
0Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

That an Owens trailer by any chance??

No, it’s an unmarked trunk trailer, been dropped by an old Actros, driven by one of our Foreign Drivers who drops 'em high every time, I’ve tried telling him to drop them level but I don’t speak Foreignese.

How is it even possible to drop it so high?
Dropping with suspension raised. Also some wagons have different fifth wheel heights.
.
My old mid lift was higher than the tag axle if it wasn’t dropped.

To be fair, I think our old Actros has a higher 5th wheel (maybe 2 inches higher) but as you can see from the picture, my TGX is at full stretch & I still have to lower the trailer on to it.
Laup,
you drop 'em on the level standard setting/green button on the control by the seat, trailer brake, wind the legs down, but leave them 1 inch from the floor, suzies, pull the pin then pull away slowly (not Jerk Factor 10, like a Shunter) gently drop it to the floor.
If it’s got a heavy load on, make sure there’s plenty of weight behind the legs/towards the rear of the trailer (not 10 tons over the pin, in front of the wheels [emoji57]) drop it on level setting, but wind the legs all the way to the floor, then pull forward slightly off the pin but not completely away from the trailer, drop the suspension right down, then pull away gently. This’ll allow the next wagon to hook up & raise his suspension to max, lifting the legs off the ground, making it easier to wind them up.

I wasn’t referring to your predicament, just generalising!

Don’t you hate it when you reply to a comment, then the comment is deleted, leaving you looking a bigger ■■■■ than normal by having a random post.

That’s exactly how I was trained to do it in the real world. Nice and tidy
Again!!! Duck are you still employed■■? …Tony

I was in a bit of a rush and not concentrating and as usual I missed the pin
DAFy_Duck:
It dented it a bit but I’m not bothered … It’s not my truck.
DAFy_Duck:
Definitely an agency driver.
Yes,it sounds like you definitely are

You missed the pin “as usual”.
Give it up now m8.
You’re ■■■■■ whether you’re a driver or not.
Bad driving missing pin get out check height?
We’ll all be better off when robots take over from someone who misses the pin regularly, the sheer negligence is astounding but unless the company are willing pay proper driver’s money this is about the standard of competence and care they can expect to pick from.

So earlier on I was backing under a trailer on the yard that some agency driver had dropped too high.I was in a bit of a rush and not concentrating and as usual I missed the pin causing the headboard to smash into the back of my cab.
It dented it a bit but I’m not bothered … It’s not my truck.
My biggest complaint is the impact knocked my collection of naughty magazines off the shelf I fixed up inside and my large cup of Costa coffee tipped over and soaked 5 of them.
Do you prefer magazines or do you use those new fangled iPad things to view photos of scantily clad young ladies?
In a RUSH.
Are you a Woman or a Driver
