Miss It!

Hi all

My first post!

Not driving at the mo :frowning:

Passed my Class 2 in 99, did part time work between studies for about 3 years and somehow got into office work. I did everything from initially driving a car for a car parts firm, then 7.5t and then regular Class 2. favourite run was to Heathrow from Midlands in a Scania loaded with mobile phones on pallets. Easy and no handball. And loved Scania’s. Hardly got a decent truck as I was a agency worker and could not do full time work.

Anyway I then did Class 1 for some reason in 2003, (even though I was in office work) just because I loved driving and trucks. Passed Class 1 but never actually got to do any work as I got married and was offered another office based job. Office jobs offered to me gave me security so I guess I went with the ‘safe’ option. But almost 10 years on I still itch to get back into driving. I don’t know if it’s a ‘grass is greener on the other side’ dilemma, but I used to love trucks and driving. Although at times it does get boring being on your own but with the old radio and CB radio there are ways out of being too lonely. Saying that, you don’t get to do much ‘socialising’ in the office environment either so not that different.

Maybe I will get back into driving one day! But at the moment I will have to do with ‘EuroTruck Simulator Game’ — my wife thinks I’m sad! Lol

I have considered doing some weekend work but not sure if I could work weekends and the weekdays in the office — plus doubt any agency will give me work now considering I have not been driving for so long.

Thanks for reading.

Ps: love this site and post.

Agency will probably get you work on class 2 mate since you have the experience, regardless of the fact that you’ve been out of it for a bit. Might take a while to get your class 1 ‘break’ though.

I have that Euro truck simulator game as well - it’s pants :grimacing:
