Had a day in one, and I’m getting one full time next week. When overtaking and pulling in there were red lines/box on the screen, does this mean the vehicle is too close to pull in or safe to do so??
Never driven one tbh but your theory sounds like it could be right.
I’ve given up flashing them in now anyway, either the drivers are all pig ignorant and can’t be assed to acknowledge or perhaps I’m flashing them in earlier than their display is telling them it’s safe to come in at.
I found it hard to judge the distance!!

Its not just the Actros drivers, it seems to be the trend of all HGV drivers, I also starting to give up flashing drivers in.
TBH I’m the same don’t bother much anymore.
As a brand new driver, i really appreciate it when flashed back in. I always acknowledge it.
I have no idea yet how long my trailer is in the mirror, today is day number 21 of actual artic driving.
Please let other drivers know, it may be me!

I tend not to get the chance anymore as before I’ve flashed they’re on their way in !!

RTFM
More often than not truck drivers move back in before I had chance to flash because they’ve moved back before I was happy with the gap. They probable think I’m rude for now giving them a flash when I reality I didn’t flash because it was too soon and would have flashed I’d they’d waited.
I agree though that it seems fewer drivers flash when your the one overtaking. If they don’t I won’t cut in though I just wait until it’s obvious I’m well out of their stopping distance, even if I’ve got someone impatient behind me trying to get me to move back in quicker. Do what you think is safe and leave everyone else to it.
