Asylum seekers arrive in the UK with no identification papers or a passport, this is to avoid being sent back to the country of origin, itâs illegal in France to not carry identification at all times.
The documents are destroyed prior to boarding the dingy in France.
Without correct and valid documentation, the UK authorities are unable to check the criminal history.
