I’ve been asked how I’d feel about doing the France run and told them I’d fancy it if I someone went over with me the first time. After reading this I’m going to tell them I’ve changed my mind. I can’t afford 2k. It’s simply not worth the risk.

I find it galling that the Homeoffice Statement was “Drivers must take simple steps to avoid immigrants stowing away”, this driver made two attempts to alert the border patrol yet still got fined. Drivers should just beat them to death, they have no rights away.

It’s not a war zone folks! I’m through there every week at most, yes it is not exactly a comfortable experience with all these ppl around you and the truck but I never feel scared or in danger.
Some of the immigrants look menacing but most are just normal looking ppl. I’ve had a smile and a laugh off many of them.
Imho any haulier who sends anything other than a sealed box trailer through Calais is basically saying that they don’t mind their load, Driver and truck being a definite target.

Another way of getting the French to do something about it is to stop using Calais and cross into the UK elsewhere.
As soon as they see a drop in revenue @ Calais maybe they will start clearing the migrants.
