Yes accents are the big give away, can be far more accurate than just pinpointing the country or what town within that country … let my wife chat to a fellow Geordie and she will know what part of the toon they were brought up in. It can be that accurate. DNA can tell parentage but will never identify location of birth etc

We’ve actually got people born here who speak their own ancestral/parental languages and dialects fluently.On that note language isn’t much different to DNA in being more a marker of descent than place of birth.Which is why we need a change in our citizenship and immigration policy to that of being based on jus Sanguinis not jus Soli.While most/all of the places in question,where the migrant problems originate and where we need to send them back to,apply that standard themselves.IE even an ethnic Pakistani born here holds Pakistan citizenship by descent under their jus Sanguinis citizenship rules.
