Perhaps it’s just me being a bit of a ■■■■■ but any bridge that is relatively close to the height of my vehicle , I’m very cautious and foot off pedal even if I’ve been under it before ,
You never know

I’d call that using your noggin, not being a ■■■■■. Bridge strikes can be a “career decision” for any driver (or operator)

Its not that long ago that this bridge has been repaired and refurbished with added signage!

Is that the bridge near the Stockport B&Q?

In fact, the one near to B&Q should no longer be a problem since it has been bypassed at - I would imagine - considerable expense.

One near b n q has a width limit just before it now to stop you getting up there.
As years ago when m60 was being shut over nights for road works. The official diversion used to send you that way.

I’am thinking that it was a very long time ago that I drove through one of the pipes in London ie; Blackwall or Rotherhithe ? and there was steel pipes like bells hanging down before the pipe. The nearside lane was lower than the offside lane . I was driving a brick crane artic and struck one of the pipes with the crane which I think I remember was 13ft 6ins in height. I quickly moved over to the offside lane and was ■■■■■■■■ it until I saw daylight the other side. So why can’t all low bridges which have been struck before have this cheap safety system.

Blackwall Tunnel going north (1970s) nearly always got the warning signs going at 4 meters, but regulars knew you could go through at 4m.
The left handers in the tunnel were a bit tight, but we always got through
